I was referring to "mike boyer." He has not logged on here in quite a while but there for a while he was very active and learned a lot.

Re: Difference in Gas Lenses
Sorry you are having so many problems. Unfortunately, this is the name of the game with these extremely cheap, in many ways, gas lens kits. I quit using them all together. Spend the extra few dollars, and that is really all it is, on a quality name brand gas lens and you won't have these problems. L...

Re: Orbital Welding Training/Certification
This is flat out self promotion but I will be offering orbital welding training classes very soon. It will focus on welding both GTAW and GMAW. I don't know of any other place (it might be out there) that offers a 2-3 day course on just orbital welding. Keep an eye on my website for further details....

it seems Roy and Jonathan don't participate here, maybe for the same reason as Jody (?) I did send an email to the PC address but no response, but then again maybe they receive a lot of emails and can't respond to everyone. I do participate as and when I can. Re: Pricing Sanitary Welding
Thanks for the replies so far guys! I'll just lay it out there, because I don't have anything to hide. I normally mark up material 40% and my shop rate has been $65/hr and portable rate of $75/hr. This falls in line with most companies in my area. When I bid these jobs I am making a profit for sure,...

Pricing Sanitary Welding
This might be a long shot but it also might turn out to be a great topic and help others. I have been doing sanitary/food grade work for several years now, mostly pans and such, but am not getting into the "big leagues" and getting the opportunity to do other types of work, like sanitary t...

Re: How to get a quote from Jody?
Maybe impossible but anybody know how I can talk to Jody to see if he can do something? I want a very experienced guy that way if he says can't do it, then can't be done. And if he can I want it done right. Could save me $1500 on one job if he can do this repair. What specifically are you wanting h...

Re: Rebuilding your own regulators
MFleet, I'm just curious about your source for the rebuild kit. Rebuilding regulators is a service we are looking at providing some companies and any additional information would be helpful for us. You are right though. Most companies don't want the liability of rebuilding regulators. In fact, I wou...

You can also stream is off our website where you can pause it and fast forward as you like. I don't think it saves your place when you come back though. I do know that most of the podcast app carriers save your place and allow you to pick up where you left off when you come back.

Re: Bleeding off pressure on argon lines
Back to the original question, There is nothing technically wrong with leaving the pressure in the line after welding. I believe, but could be mistaken, that the solenoid in the machine can handle 200 psi (??) and your regulator/flowmeter puts out 25-50 plus and that is it. Your hose should be able ...

I think your best bet is to return it before what warranty it does have runs out. I have a 3350 and absolutely love it but have already replaced the battery and only had it around 6 months.

Oscar, Those are the exact same thing. Welding Material Sales is the parent company that private labels fillers for a lot of companies and sells their own branded fillers, Blue Demon. They also do the private labeling for Weldporn's fillers. I looked into having them do my private labeling but a lot...

Re: Buying a longer/heaver mig gun
Levi, I have ran 25' guns for years with no real problems, except the obvious when you have it kinked. No matter which gun you get, you should step up to Lincoln's higher amperage consumables. They will fit on your factory gun and will allow you to weld longer. I don't know all the numbers off hand ...

jroark, First, thanks for listening to the Podcast! I'll start out with this. If those you ask that are self-employed are telling you not to start a business, than why are they still out there? I never could understand that mentality. I won't speak for Roy, maybe I can get him to comment as well, bu...

Re: Welding Tips & Tricks Podcast
I've got a question that's more tech related and probably a dumb question but, does listening to a podcast use your data? If it's downloaded it shouldn't use the data, right? As far as I know, if you stream the podcast from our website it will use your data. You are better off to download each epis...
