Re: Body Positioning and Breathing
I sing or talk to myself to keep my breathing going. Sounds weird but it's always helped me take the mind off remembering to breath when concentrating really hard and the breathing just happens normally. I'm starting to worry about you...Do you ever answer yourself? Not yet, but thats bound to star...

I think they're just planning on it being driven by a drill you already own. Though super easy to rig up a dedicated motor to it.

"about 1/3 of the price of a comparable part"
Wonder what it'll actually be. I've seen comparable positioners from $500 to $3k.g

Cigar tubes, copper tubing and plumbing parts, PVC, or some jewelers bur holders work well (for 3/32" tungsten).

This is what they're saying is for your welder, but it looks like you have the wire colors of the 7-pin style foot pedal. https://www.lcdvision-schweisstechnik.de/bilder/produkte/gross/Fusspedal-fuer-Mosfet-Inverter-mit-2-3-poligen-Anschluss_b3.jpg Blau = Blue Rot = Red Schwarz = Black https://www.l...

Re: PCB Repair or..?
Technically that can be fixed, but from the side shown, there's nothing there that would prevent it from working, so either there is other component damage on the top side of the board, or there's other things that would be preventing it from working. The soldering in some places looks really iffy t...

There's no way that's how that connector should be. Only way that is from Miller is if they completely skipped their QC and allowed a batch of CNC mess-ups out the door.

Re: What electrodes to buy
Not even so much as AC vs DC, the rods are just a bit different. The regular Lincoln Excalibur's still run on AC, though both are still DC+/AC rods. The 7018AC rods just have a slightly thicker amount of a different type of flux. Filler is still the same, but something in the flux has Lincoln only r...

Re: What electrodes to buy
I've heard people say 7018 is hard to run I just never understood why I think it's one of the easiest maybe people let them get damp I don't know ......if it's got slag drag! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk I think a lot of it has to do with people running the cheaper 7018AC rods versus regular ...

Handshakes, goodbyes, still giving 100% until your last day, and not leaving with burnouts and middle fingers in the air usually is the way to go to not burn bridges, and just being completely honest that you want to move on to a new opportunity.

Re: What electrodes to buy
Hello all, I just joined this forum. I have been doing some MIG welding for a little while and just purchased a ac/dc stick welder. I will be wanting to weld mild steel. Can someone give me some recommendations on what electrodes, what sizes and how much to purchase? Also, is there a big difference...

Re: What electrodes to buy
You can run both with your machine. Just make sure to chose the right polarity for the electrode. Some will only run DC+, DC-, DC+/-, some only AC, and some are AC/DC.

Re: What electrodes to buy
At least in my experience, as long as you're fine with always cleaning your work before welding, you can never go wrong with 7018 in 3/32" and 1/8". I've dried open boxes of 7-18 in a 450* oven for 4 hours while I was cutting and prepping metal and never had issues. Never have had an issue...

Was looking into this machine before I realized I don't have much need for the plasma and it looks like they've gotten over the issue of the earlier machines. Most of the issues I've seen from newer machines have just been people running little pancake compressors for the air source. It's basically ...

Unless it's changed recently, the WP9 takes Series 2 parts and the WP17 takes series 3/4 parts, so the back caps wont be interchangeable.

Inverters in general are very nice, weld excellent, consume less power, and will die without being able to be fixed (in many/most cases). That last fact has to be balanced in the equation in my humble opinion. They can always be fixed. Just comes down to finding the component(s) that went pop and r...

I've seen a few guys who can't run 7018. One guy got thrown off a job site when the foreman came back and saw 6010 stubs everywhere. Just 3/8" steel tie plates on pre-cast walls and floors and it was more grinding than welding with him and 7018.

Fitup will definitely be spot on. I'd rather scrap a length of tube and start over than deal with even a blonde one of a gap. The finished truck will likely be 6000-7000lbs. Last thing I want is any suspect joints.
