Finding AWS Test Site
Hey everybody, and thanks for viewing my post. Problem - getting a 3G Structural Steel certification test. I am new to welding. 50yo, and ex-CFO type. I have been learning to weld, and believe I am ready for a 3G cert test. Went to AWS web site, and there are not any testing sites within 3 hrs. Did ...

Re: Plasma on generator
A follow up note to my original post. The original goal was to set up new Everlast 51P plasma cutter for field applications using a Bobcat 225 as power source. I cut down a metal pipe fence without any issues.

Re: converting a tig torch for new machine
Found on weld fabulous that says its for the newer everlast. But mine has short gas line that screws in the machine, not a quick disconnect. The one on the site for newer everlast looks like it's quick disconnect.
I'll try to upload pic

Re: converting a tig torch for new machine
That looks like what I need. Thanks RamboBaby.

Now, I hope installing the gas\power hose from the old torch into the Dinse plug is self explanatory.

converting a tig torch for new machine
Thanks for reading my post. I am still new to welding, but I am trying. Just bought an Everlast 185DV. I opted for the 9 series torch as I had a 17 torch that I liked. Thought the 9 series would be appropriate for the furniture frames I am making. The 17 torch is adapted for my Miller HF unit, which...

Re: Plasma on generator
found many articles that put my clean power worries aside. Here is the most indepth one. A reply from this post - http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r27117217-Dirty-Power-Cleanup To begin with, most people, including many equipment manufacturer's, many electricians, and just about all the average Joe's...

Re: Plasma on generator
Thanks Thatoneguy. The Miller tech says they run their machines off their generators, but he wold not certify it 'clean power'.
I see your Everlast collection. Today I ordered the Everlast 51P plasma and 185DV tig. They gave me a bundle deal. Think I'm ok, but will continue to research.

Plasma on generator
I will stick this question in cutting as it regards an in the field plasma cutter set up. I am looking at plasma cutters, and notice some say you need clean power or low harmonic disturbance. Some inverter machines do not have this warning. What happens when you do run an inverter based machine on a...

New to TIG. Miller HF-250 controls ?
Just bought a used Miller Bobcat 225 with a high frequency add-on in hopes of learning how to TIG. I watched all the You Tube videos I could find, and understand the generic TIG machine controls. Got the TIG up and going today for first time. Left the HF setting at 60, but had trouble with unit comi...

Hello from N Mississippi
Just moved back home to North Mississippi, and I am setting up a welding/fab shop. Found a used Miller Bobcat 225 with a high frequency attachment. Going to learn how to TIG.
