Re: What's best for me and learning
My 2 cts. You aren't going to make any money from mig welding. Tig and stick pay better so I would concentrate on those 2. You can learn to mig in a half hour. Well, turns out he didn't get flashed, he was sticking some sheet metal with a pair of sunglasses instead of a hood! Eyes starting to puff up and face/nose got it bad too (Durh), he looks like a boi...

Lots of good here. Solution I am picturing now is a combo of replies: close, chill, tack, build, shape.

How would you tackle this?
Stainless restaurant prep sink. Can't find any specs. Looks to be 16ga 304. When fabbed, they tacked a few times from the bottom, welded tight on top, THEN, they ground WAY too much material and it is separating. Thinking backer plate and fill the separation. Opinions? Advise? http://uploads.tapatal...

I wear contacts for astigmatism and +1.25-1.50 to read at a normal distance (12-14 inches). Fcaw with #10 fixed shade was almost impossible to see. Went to #9 gold and HOLY COW! I was blind but now I see! Just sayin'.....

Re: New here from North Alabama
Welcome, please post how you like it. I want to buy that same machine. So ill be watching. Good luck. Had the machine for a week now only had the chance to fire it up once. Ran some 1/8 6011 and 7014 in some mystery metal decently on 120v. Haven't had the chance to test it out on 240v, or on real s...

Had a #10 in my Lincoln hood doing max 90A flux core. VERY hard to see what was going on. Picked up a #9 gold lens and "I once was blind. But now I see." What a difference. Question is, will I need to go back to #10 for my Everlast 140st when it gets here next week? Sent from my iPhone usi...

New here from North Alabama
Only have an HF 90A flux core right now. Does ok for what it is. Already paid for itself (only paid $40ish , warehouse return). Waiting to see what the Everlast 140st does when it gets here (week after next worst case). Only $270 tax and shipped. Read decent things about it here. Sent from my iPhone...
