Re: Converted flux core welder to stick welder, helmet question

Good news, I beleive I told you i received 7 Riland factory returned welders on craigslist. I forgot one was a TIG 200p. Seems to work, or at least the MMA stick weld part. Did not have cables or stinger , so i made a pair out of one set of the flux core. It's also 220v so i had to use a generator.....

Re: Converted flux core welder to stick welder, helmet question

thanks for the reply. I believe you are wrong. Do you actually know what Synergetic means? I have not been able to find an actual Manual for the 110e , although in the write up on Amazon and a few other sites state that the 110e is a 30-90A welder AND as you turn the knob to increase the Amps it aut...

Converted flux core welder to stick welder, helmet question

I received 6 broken Riland 110e IGBT flux core welders for free. They were from craigslist in the free section. Apparently they were warranty returns. The guy had 12. gave me 6 and someone else 6. One is dead and the only fault I can find with the rest is the flux core wire feeder is made wrong. com...

Reversing Polarity on a flux welder

hi just watched a youtube video on reversing the polarity on a flux core welder which to me means the grounding clamp is positive and the gun negative. So does that mean the work piece now has a positive potential ? what about welding on say the floor pan on a modern car with a computer...what will ...

Re: question about using a wire welder safely

Also seach youtube for instructions to convert your welder to direct current, not so much that you want to do it just to get a better understanding of the problem yeah I saw that on you tube where they use a 100amp bridge rectifier and a capacitor. I don't think your welder will let you weld when i...

Re: question about using a wire welder safely

As to not using it outdoors... I guess the manufactured is afraid the unit may get a sun burn  I suspect that the unit is a flux core welder - no shielding gas involved yes that is correct be sure to use a GFI protected electrical outlet to plug it into will do Our GFCI's look at balanced curr...

question about using a wire welder safely

I bought a portable 90a wire welder. I need to know the safety practices on using one. The instructions say do not use outdoors. That is where I intended to use the welder. The instructions said lay on a rubber mat or piece of thick plywood to keep from getting shocked. What I intended to do was ass...

Hello from Maryland

Hi I have always wanted to weld ever since High School. What a magnificent way to harness nature by cutting steel with fire.
