No, they sell the parts to do the fabrication yourself, or you can probably buy them locally and save on shipping.mikelove316 wrote:... would it be to far a stretch just to weld something like that ??

Re: Aluminum porridge anyone...
I found it useful when I learned to weld aluminum to start in the middle of the flat piece and run a decent bead with filler to get a feel for starting the puddle and maintaining proper heat. I still do that exercise because I'm a home hobbyist who doesn't weld every day. Then I moved closer to the ...

Re: Remote amp control
This amp control has gotten really good reviews from a number of people, it's just recently become available for SW200 and I plan to buy one. You might try that instead of buying a torch that comes with one. I've tried two or three amp controls and couldn't get the hang of any of them, it just inte...

Re: Jumbo Gas lens versus Medium gas lens dillema!
I like #8 cup and 3/32" tungsten for most everything. I'd start out with just a 3/32" lens, maybe try a few different brands to see what you like best before you buy all the different sizes. As an example, some lenses are 2 piece where the screen unscrews from the rest of the lens. I don't...

Re: If your newest favorite welder let you down.........
Unfortunately, my only other option is Radnor(AirGas). I turned a torch into them for rebuild and they lost it. But their hazmat fee is $5. So what do ya do? I know that fee drives me nuts every time I buy something. My Airgas gives me 15% off because I went through the welding program at the local...

Re: tig torch thread ck9/wp9
Looks like it's 5/16-24, this lens is for a #9 style torch. I think I'd buy a thread gauge and measure it before buying a die. If they're cheap lenses, you can probably buy 5 more for the price of gauge and 10 more for the price of the die.

I got a digital elite so I could use it in X-mode and not have all the problems setting the sensitivity when I'm welding outside or being affected by other people's arcs. I assume you have bright overhead lights that are reflecting off the table. The gun blue sounds like a good idea.

That was a good deal. One thing I got on my last cord that I really like is a handle molded into the male end. It makes it easy to pull it out. Sometimes these things are so tight you almost need a pry bar to get them out.

Re: Am I waisting too much gas?
I assume you checked the output side of the solenoid, and the nut that screws into the tank. Did you paint the full length of the tubing with soap? Those tubes are some kind of plastic, so it could have a small hole from damage or a manufacturing defect.

Re: Advice for novice welder doing structural auto rust repa
I've done a fair number of repairs on farm equipment that is similar to what you're trying to weld: a 12ga bush hog deck is always rusty and has paint and oil on it. Things I've found are that everything needs to be really clean and free of rust or I won't be successful with tig. I've tried two appr...

No one in their right mind would pay me for my welding :-) You and I can go into business together, if we pool our money we can hire a welder. I've had both Farmers and State Farm insurance and both knew I have welders but didn't care as long as I wasn't doing it for money. We do have extra coverag...

Re: Oxygen regulator
If you have a check valve in the line you might try changing it as an experiment. I had a problem with my setup because I had a check valve and a separate flashback arrestor, the pressure drop across both of them was enough to make the gas flutter on and off at low pressures because it couldn't quit...

Re: Noob beads for comment and advice
1/16" tungsten is too small, 3/32" or 1/8" will make it easier for you. You're trying to weld very dissimilar thicknesses which is a hard first project. Try practice running beads on each material separately until you figure out the settings. Get comfortable with larger diameter fille...

Re: Why are electric die grinders so expensive?
I've got air and electric, but the electric is a cheap Harbor freight that I bought because I didn't have air where I needed to use it. It did the job but not something I'd want to use very often. They're both so loud once you start grinding I can't tell the difference. If you're just spinning the m...

Re: AC Voltage Options for Miller Tig
Since they both have 230v and 460v, the difference is the 951117 will do 200v and the 951118 will do 575v. Which of these (2) voltages would be better to have? You would be hard pressed to find any place in the US that still has 575v. It was used a lot in the south for large motors in textile mills...

Voltage drops for 50', 220v@22A:
#10: 2.2volt
#8: 1.4volt
Guidance is no more than 5% voltage drop so either cord will work.

Re: Amp pedal and ARC welding
I have the same machine and I'm not sure. I've stick welded with it, and I'm pretty sure I left the foot pedal connected, so that would indicate the pedal doesn't work otherwise I wouldn't have had any current. But I'm not 100% sure I had the pedal connected. If you try it post the results. Right no...

Re: Custom Soldering Iron Tip?
Something like this might work right out of the box, it's just over an inch wide. If you want to make it yourself, #6 wire doesn't quite fit in a soldering tip, you'll have to turn it down a bit, and try to get it straight. I'd try cutting the copper plate so it has a tang sticking out of it and fa...

There are towns that develop artistic shopping areas, if there's an area like that by you I'd try to get your stuff displayed there. Out west there are towns like Santa Fe and Silver City in New Mexico that have big artist communities and high end artwork. Around here in Chicago there's towns like L...

Re: stubby gas lense kit, water cooler, what do I need?
The valve would be used to shut off the postflow, which I've read complaints about on the sw200. Or is that complaint over blown? For me to run 15cfh of argon it costs between $.04 and $.15/minute for gas flow depending on whether I fill the tank at the expensive national company or at the small we...
