Re: Q700 dry cut
There are a bunch of these saws on the market. I would shop around for a 14". The one I have is one of my favorite tools.

Re: New mag drill?
What are you using your mag-drill for? Tapping? Countersink? If just for drilling holes, how big, how often and where? Will you be in the shop, on the jobsite, or both?

Re: FCAW burnthrough on 14 ga 1" square tubing
I am not a welder by any stretch of the imagination, but I went thru the same scenario. I couldn't get thin sheet metal to weld at all with fluxcore. The best I could do was large tacks and back stepping and moving around the joint.
If someone has a better solution, I would like to know as well.

Re: best way to get rid of zinc/galvanized coating? to tig w
I often weld small bits of metal at home to practice when I can. Would muriatic acid work for small parts, I.e. nuts, bolts, nails, etc. Especially nuts. I have tons of hardware at home but I can't grind it good enough to be comfortable welding it in the basement. Most of the items would fit in a pi...

Slag removal from tight spaces
Is there a technique for getting slag off in tight spaces where you can't reach it with a wire brush? I have been using fluxcore and stick to burn some stuff together recently and I can't get all the slag off afterwards. I don't want to just paint over it. I can knock it of the bead most times but t...

Re: Beginning hobbyist in Pittsburgh
So far I have attempted fluxcore, stick, and tig. I hope to get a chance to try a torch for brazing. I have mostly been welding bits of scrap together just trying to figure out whatever I can.
