Re: Lincoln 3/32" 6011 on Everlast Machine
Thank you all for advice. As far as Jody's videos. I have been watching them for months now every night. It's about the only thing I use my TV for, lol. I watched for a second time his 6011 video, and the one about stick rods, and I think there was a third one I found also call something like somet...

Re: 7018 question
Can you post a pic of some of the beads? Preferably one right after you weld with the slag still on. And a second after the slag is off. Are you running the Lincon 210mp? If so I have that machine and I use it mostly on 220 but could do some tests on 110 to compare. i would be intrested to see what...

Re: 7018 question
Yeah, something's hinky... I've burned a ton of 1/8" Excalibur 7108 in DCEP, and rarely have gone above 120A, even in flat position. I'll run them as low as 105A on pipe. I've also burned a lot of ESAB's "Atom Arc" 7018; It likes to be a little hotter, but not much. I have no experie...

Now about the glass. Glass is transparent because it lets all the colors go true it but what we can not see is that it acts as a filter for UV light. Most of UV radiation is stopped by glass & this is why you will not get sunburns behind a glass. The glass simply filters out the UV radiation th...

Re: 7018 question
Are you running the 7014 and 6011 on DC? The amp recommendations for the 6011 are likely for AC, though it can be run DC. I've only ever run 7014 on AC, so can't compare, but running on DC always takes less amps than the same rod on AC, typically about 71%, or RMS value. This seems to roughly agree...

Re: Gun "Kick Back"
one thing you could try is getting a new Brass Ground clamp and when you put the ground in there also feet a second wire in there that will be bare at the last 2-3 inches (make sure you use the Good Welding ground wire for this as it has thinner strands of wire) and when you clamp it down on your w...

Re: 7018 question
Wow that's a lot of back and forth. 7018 1/8 should run good between 100-130. That's depending on the machine. Are you comparing amp setting on the same machine or on two different ones. There can be a lot of difference between 120 amps on one machine compared to another. The second may be set for ...

7018 question
has anyone ever noticed a brand or type of 7018 that always seems to run with less amps (or with the amps there charted too) then the other brands? what i am getting at is if you go by the lincoln charts 7014/6013 should use more amps then 7018 in the 1/8 inch rods and the only 7018 rods i have take...

Would like to see pictures too - always wanted an ex military truck except the bit you could'nt afford to run it with our fuel prices. depends on the truck the M1031 is more of less a Chevy 3/4 ton or 1 ton with a 6.5L diesel IIRC id guess it wouldnt be any less fuel effciant going down to road the...

Re: How do you get rid of cold roll on dual shield?
i would get a test scrap and start playing with settings and stick out to figure out the issue.. start out with what you have for settings now and then crank the settings higher or lower on voltage and wire speed.. also if what you are welding is cold ie the themp is cold enough to warrent a jacket ...

Re: Miller Thunderbolt 225 AC Restoration
I've never welded, but I'm gonna learn stick. Bought a Miller Thunderbolt 225 AC for $75. Rough shape (dirty). I'm restoring it (New power cord, new electrode holder, new ground clamp). I have a 30 amp breaker I run my generator off of. I made a cord (4 prong) from outlet to generator. Can I run th...

Re: gas choice
I decided to update my welding this fall, after welding on a 100 amp Lincoln since 98 with flux core mostly I pulled the trigger on a Hobart 210. I need to put a 220 50amp service in my garage but in the mean time I have about 10lbs of .035 flux core that I will use on 110. I'm curious about what I...

C10 vs C25 machine settings
would running on C10 with my auto Arc 130 vs the door charts C25 settings have caused me to have to run at a much lower wire feed settings? also how dose the heat differ on C25 vs C10? i had to run on Voltage 4 and wire 10 vs charts settings of 4 and wire of 40.

Re: Edge Blow Through Help!
I'm so new to welding, but I gotta ask somewhere... I've been practicing running beads and welding simple joints, with 1/8" angle iron, using .030 wire in a mig. Looks like I'm getting decent penetration, with no holes, except when I come to an edge. When I come the edge, I always take a bite ...

Re: 110 volt flux core amazed
We shouldn't underestimate the 120 volt machines. I have a Lincoln SP 135+ that I keep loaded for FCAW just for quick small repairs, outdoors jobs, and to loan to friends, etc. I used it to build a rack for my pickup, among other projects. Neat little machine. some of the newer 120V machines can re...

Re: what is the better one to buy Millermatic 125 or the Hob
Go with the Hobart. Cheaper price for the same machine. Miller produces Hobart and is generally the model year behind the current Miller product I ended up buying a Hobart "auto Arc" 130 at farm and fleet for 269 new in the box.. couldnt pass up the price.. way better welder then what i h...

Re: Fluxcore on AC current
oh the reason i am asking is due to my Metal Man FC125 having a AC output current and i am kinda wondering if that is why it kinda welds poorly ie compleat lack of peneration on anything thick.Farmwelding wrote:Would not recommend. Mug and flux core being wire feeding processes both require direct current.
