Re: Need a Welding Table

i built a purpose built wood work bench with shelving for my welders and then put a folding hobart welding table on top of that.. worked out good for me, got my big Miller 2e stored under it.

Re: 220v outlet and a 30 ampbreaker?

So I want to start welding with MIG and flux core in my garage. It would be running from a 220v outlet that is connected to a 30 amp breaker, would this be good enough so that I could weld on 3/8 plate so that I can practice for weld tests and other things? oh yeah.. i can get 95 amps consintus out...

Re: Mig Welders

The big box stirs generally sell mornehomeowner grade welders that have lower amperage, duty cycle, or less features. For the home hobbyist, big box store welders are just fine. If you want more amperage, settings, digital control, or a better duty cycle then look at a welding supply store. i can s...

Re: looking for a new hood, Suggestions?

i would look into what helmet fits best for you and you can also get consumable parts for the easiest ie protective shelding glass, and battery's.. not use getting the best helment if you cant get the face glass for it when you need it..

Re: first welding truck from a dodge ram 1500?

And for a extra bit of info to give you a idea here.. with 1600lbs load capacity. if you had just you. Fuel in truck 245lbs (figuring 35 gallon tank) take your fuel capcity times 7 will give you some margin of error. Person 300lbs (over what most people weight but for aguments sake) add in your own ...

Re: Lincoln Square Wave TIG 200 vs 6010?

Has anyone else had trouble with 6010 on the Lincoln Tig 200? I've read that some inverters don't play well with 6010. I assume any trouble I have is due to the fact that I'm a beginner and don't know what I'm doing, but maybe not this time? try some 6011 and see how it goses.. if it runs good and ...

Re: Running 5P+ on a lincoln square wave 200

I just recently bought a Square Wave 200 to practice on pipe, both tig and stick. The machine runs tig and 7018 quite well. My problem is when I run 5P+ on it, it strikes up just fine, but I can only weld about a half an inch on a root before it terminates the arc. It's like someone just shuts off ...

Re: 6011 vs 6010 on 220v vs 110v

on my machine, using Lincoln rods, 6011 definitely needs a few more amps than 6010, same diameter rod, both on DCEP. Roughly a 10% difference. on 110V? Fuggedaboutit. OCV is only 47V on 110V, vs 67V on 220V input power. Won't run 6010 on 110V. I suspect you need around 60V bare minimum OCV to strik...

not sure on that i never had a 110v welder. i would say just run some 6010 with that machine and see what how it compares poor thing wont run 6010 to save itself its a "small" inverter we had 3/32 6010 at 110 amps and it wouldnt run more then a inch lol.. i hope in the future they revamp ...

Re: 6011 vs 6010 on 220v vs 110v

I wouldn't worry too much about the exact amperage the settings are gonna very from machine to machine. Just remember a ballpark for the rod and fine tune on a piece of scrap in the position you want to weld when you use a different welder. as for the rod they are about the same but 6011 seems to b...

6011 vs 6010 on 220v vs 110v

so is it normal for 6011 to take more amps to run vs 6010?

because i have to run 1/8 6011 on 100 amps to run good but on my AHP on 110v but the miller at school runs 1/8 inch 6010 at around 85-90 amps? is this just due to 110v vs 220v or is it that 6011 takes more amps to run vs 6010?

Re: AC Electrodes On DC welder

Thanks for the help. now I feel better if I buy the dc welder DC welders should run just about everything provided you got the amps to run it.. but E6010 will be hard, if your going small get one that has a port for it if your wanting to run that.. my AHP 160 is awsome at running anything but 6010..
