Re: Review for TIG Button hand amptrol for HTP Invertig 221
Jackets, we don't need no stinking jackets! No man, I don't do a ton of welding on the farm in the summer. Small repairs, generally smaller fab work, sometimes some big stuff like a safety pull or oil rack. Only safety gear is a passive shade helmet and safety glasses for grinding and cutting. Than...

Re: Review for TIG Button hand amptrol for HTP Invertig 221
That is what I was getting at. If it did not work *with* gloves, I would *not* have bought one. Glad it works with gloves as I always wear my gloves when tig welding (and mig).Oscar wrote:Works just fine with gloves. Never weld without gloves unless you want UV burnt hands.

Re: Review for TIG Button hand amptrol for HTP Invertig 221
I bought one a few minutes ago for my HTP 221 but I had to re-read this thread to get it ordered as I sure couldn't find it on ebay! If anybody wants to purchase one, use the link below for the correct place to get it ordered. (thanks Oscar)

Re: snapping off tungsten
That is good info for people that break off their tungsten's. I myself have never broke off a tungsten ever as I read years ago that certain tungsten's, namely lanthanated, are more prone to stress fractures. And I mainly use lanthanated so I figured why risk it on any of them.

Re: Review for TIG Button hand amptrol for HTP Invertig 221
Ok, so the reviews that keep on coming in have me tempted to buy this thing for my HTP Invertig 221. Does it work fine with gloves? Same as without? Just making sure so I can continue wearing my gloves for safety's sake. What is the warranty? And will spare parts be available if anything fails so yo...

Re: Swivel Head Bandsaw
Looking for feedback on the smaller swivel head bandsaws, particularly the Baileigh BS-128M. Are they accurate? Will they return to square if swiveled to cut an angle? I currently have an old Jet horizontal bandsaw, 64.5" blade, the typical 4x6. I work out of my garage making custom furniture ...

We probably should be a little more restrained on these jokes. As fun as they are, we have new members every day, and I'd hate for us to be misunderstood before they get to know us. Steve So after their first hijacked thread they should know us pretty well, huh? :D (Exnailpounder and Farm boy) :o

The gas lens guy reminds me of a story...using my friends truck to do some work for him....truck dies out...I start pulling spark plugs, checking wires, cleaning out the oxidation on the contact points in the distributor cap, doing everything I can think of. I can't get it to run. I call him...he s...

Huh? Do you weld with glasses and a cheater at the same time? I do. I have to have my face stuck in the weld like that but I can see it amazingly well. If I can't get my face in close, I have to take the glasses off. When I mig, I only use the cheater. I wish I could find a good glass cheater inste...

Ok, I'll bite. What's a cheater lens? It's a magnifying lens (two, side-by-side, actually) in a standard 2X4 size like a small-window welding lens. They come in different "diopter" numbers like reading glasses. They mount inside the hood, over your filter lens. Steve S My trick is to wear...
