Nickel rods are ridiculously expensive, around £150 per kg (2.2lb) over here. But they do work well, I fix a lot of cast gates and railings some of them need a inch thick of build up, I've never pre heated or wrapped after welding and not had any crack yet, in fact some of them actually say no need ...

What kva is the generator
My 130a inverter mma and 160a acdc tig need a recommended 5 kva avr generator to start it properly , ended up getting a 8.7 kva just yo make sure :D

Hi I’m dave from the isle of man uk I specialise in sheet leadwork, been gas welding for 26 years, but due to work slowing down in winter, and the really stupid prices for acetylene, i'm moving to mig/tig/mma with the hope of getting a full time job omg i cant remember posting this but i obviously ...

Yeah, that happens all the time. Everybody wants to be your friend when you have tools and know how to use them. Now when that happens I tell the person I can't do it right away and make them leave the part. Then after they leave I fix it but wait a couple hours before I call them and tell them it'...
