Re: WT&T video Q: using stainless mesh in gas lenses / TIG
In your experiments, have you found a particular mesh size to be adequate for general purpose use or easier to work with?

Re: WT&T video Q: using stainless mesh in gas lenses / TIG
Thanks much. I asked the wrong question.
I guess what I meant to ask was, what is a good source for mesh that is adequate for this application?

Bumping an old thread.
Oscar or anyone else- what is the exact specification of the mesh I need to buy for this?

Small 80a inverter welder and 1/16 6013 rods.
Came across a decent Klutch ST80i predecessor being sold cheap that was worth it to me for fooling around with as a portable, scratch start TIG rig. This is hobbyist grade gear but the price was right and I wanted a little portable inverter machine. Tried fiddling around with it today using the stin...

Re: WT&T video Q: using stainless mesh in gas lenses / TIG
Major thanks. That was exactly the info I was looking for.
Do you have a link to the kind of diffuser screen that you would suggest?
In your design, are you running two screens per lens (towards the back, then the front)?
Again, major thanks for the help.

WT&T video Q: using stainless mesh in gas lenses / TIG
One of Jodys older vids (circa 2010), about getting better gas coverage.

I'm looking to pick up a roll of stainless mesh and cut out a bunch of circles to fit my lenses.
Does anyone know what mesh # is best for this application?
Thanks.

Re: Advice on dime stacking
It's basic mechanics. Correct arc initiation, correct puddle initiation, consistent and correct travel speed, consistent and correct torch angle, maintaining a correct heat induction and puddle size as the joint progresses (either via your mechanical control or your travel speed) and the biggie, con...

Hi all from Florida.
Hello everyone.
AWS D1.1 certified to 7018 and flux but really love TIG.
Would not have graduated welding school were it not for Jody's videos, so huge thanks to him.
Hoping to learn a lot here.
Thanks.
