Re: WTB 1lb. ERCuSi-A in .40 or .35

Thanks guys. That's where I started; my LWS. 30 lbs was the smallest qty they'd sell. It was that or a 10 lb spool that I'd have to cut and straighten. Thanks for the link to Arc-Zone LtBadd. I'll order from them.

WTB 1lb. ERCuSi-A in .40 or .35

Hi everyone, I've been doing some fill/grind/blend work on thin sheet steel expansion chambers (two stroke race bike) and after several burn-throughs with ER70S-2 filler I tried some 1/16 ERCuSi-A I found in the shop. It works great for the application, love the way it flows. I want to switch to a ....

Re: Some help please

I'm certainly not a pro but things I've seen work before and might be worth trying... Can you back it up with something to control the heat? Have you tried pre-heating before welding? Have you tried to anneal the alloy first? (not sure what grade you are using so it might not matter) Good luck, Andr...

Re: Troubles after torch upgrade

So I was just in the shop doing some back to back testing. Its something about the stubby gas lens. When I put the standard collet body back into the WP17 torch it performs as expected both AC and DC. I had only tried the 1/16 set so just for kicks I tried the 3/32 set. Again, decent performance on ...

Re: Troubles after torch upgrade

Not sure that it matters but... The gas lens is a CK set, not original Weldcraft. After comparing the real-deal stuff on my WP20 there is a difference! Maybe that is the culprit? The back cap seats onto the insulator just before it grabs the tungsten. The cup seems to be OK. I'm going to try switchi...

Re: Troubles after torch upgrade

15-20CFH sounds pretty high for a #5 cup, personally. If I understand your post correctly, even if you use your original Torch connected to the new SuperFlex cable, all works fine? If so, connect your new Torch to the OLD cable and test it. Problem the same? If so, you now know the culprit.... You ...

Troubles after torch upgrade

I recently upgrade my older Diversion 180 with a new Weldcraft A-150 (WP17) torch. The OE torch is bulky and I rarely use the fingertip controls plus the cable and cover are heavy and tough to manage. I also added a 12 ft. SuperFlex cable and gas lens kit. I've tested the torch a few times now and t...

Tig machine settings matrix?

Has anyone ever seen a settings matrix for Tig welding that I can print and put on the side of my machine? On my Diversion its easy; one button, one dial, two modes. Not so clear on my old 330 A/B/P. I can probably do it myself but just wondering if anyone has ever seen one. I think the following wo...

Re: Argon price in northern California Question
so you are virtually in the same area, i am in Pittsburgh close to concord, probably you know around here, but if you see the rest of the comments it looks like here in CA we pay 300% more. :(
Yep! Welcome to the Bay Area for pricing. And its not like we have a lot of choices; Airga...

Re: Argon price in northern California Question

I just exchanged my 125 scf argon tank at Airgas the other day in Union City, CA. The price was $105.33. I've never bought a tank that large (330) but they are expensive. I've been lucky enough to inherit or find old tanks to trade in. I had to buy a small 40 scf nitro tank several years back and I ...
