Re: Plasma cutters with built in compressor?
I've owned a little Miller Spectrum 125c for ?? ten or fifteen years and it has always worked well for me. I've parted out and cut up probably five or six 60s era Pontiacs and Fords with it as well as numerous other tasks. It only cute 1/8" with ease .though

I just saw one advertised. I've got an e684 and it is the best IMO, but this may be even better.

You mist have quite a reputation for them to award a job like that; $10k in materials alone!! Goodwill in a business is everything.

Have you considered a Lincoln 210mp? Jody and his buddy JD Brewer really like it and JD uses it in his business running dual shield almost exclusively. You may have seen it but it is in a number of Jody's videos.

Re: Miller 211 vs lincoln 210mp, need advice
Don't know if you've bought yet but I would recommend more research re the esab machine. Mebby register on weldingweb and read down the esab dedicated section. There are far more problems with the esab stuff than with the red stuff from what I've read and their customer support can be more iffy. htt...

The second one I ordered got here and was 8 gauge. Very nice 40' cord and I'm pleased with it.

Re: Noob has $1500 for Tig. Suggestions?
I just noticed that the 201 doesn't even come with a foot pedal. I have a squarewave tig 200 but if I had it to do over I might buy the Everlast PowerTig 200dv for $1349. It has probably more features than any other tig on the market in that price range. Lots of knobs though. https://www.everlastgen...

Re: Noob has $1500 for Tig. Suggestions?
The 201 is 240 volt only. For that money you can get a square wave tig 200 which is both 120 and 230, or one of several Everlast dual voltage Tigs.

After researching the heck out of them I bought an Optrel e684. There are apparently several really good ones and it ranks right up there with the best of them according to most comments you will read.

Re: Miller 211 vs lincoln 210mp, need advice
I know nothing about the Miller but bought a factory refurbished 210 MP from WeldingMart in Appleton Wi last fall for right at $1200 with free shipping and no tax direct from Lincoln in Cleveland. I bought a Square Wave Tig 200 at the same time. When I got them everything looked brand new. No scratc...

Re: 50' 220 extension cord with 10 gauge wire
Well if it appears to be too good to be true, etc. etc. This whole deal turned into a real snafu; ebay has cancelled the auctions on these extension cords, sent me an email saying there were problems with the seller after I'd bought mine, and I got a refund through paypal. I found another one though...

Re: 50' 220 extension cord with 10 gauge wire
I'm not an attorney so I don't know but the write up on that ad IS inaccurate in both the title and in the specs because, while the specs do admit to 10 gauge wire, they also say the cord will carry 50 amps, and 10 gauge will not carry 50 amps. The cord will do what I want so I'm cool, but it could ...

Re: 50' 220 extension cord with 10 gauge wire
It wasn't the seller. I just clicked around and that extension cord is on Amazon and other places and all of them have the same description so the wording came from the manufacturer's write up probably. They are also three times that price everywhere else so the supply that particular seller has on ...

50' 220 extension cord with 10 gauge wire
I don't know why I'm asking because I know the answer. I guess I'm looking for positive reinforcement? I have both a Lincoln power mig 210mp and a square wave tig 200 and lincoln says the max amps they draw on 220 volts, respectively, is 14.7 and 22. There is a very inexpensive 50' 220 extension cor...

Re: stubby gas lense kit, water cooler, what do I need?
Thanks again for all of the input. After reading your thoughts I think I'm going to get some of Jody's stubby lenses and go with the sw200 just like it came and try to learn to do tig that way. If I'm successful and it appears I can actually do tig I may add another torch with superflex cables at so...

Re: stubby gas lense kit, water cooler, what do I need?
Thanks for the responses.
Would a CK17V-RSF-FX, which has the flex head and valve, and the super flex hose, be worthwhile. The valve would be used to shut off the postflow, which I've read complaints about on the sw200. Or is that complaint over blown?

stubby gas lense kit, water cooler, what do I need?
I've bought a Lincoln Square Wave Tig 200 and plan to teach myself how to tig with the help of Jody's videos and posts on this and the welding web forums. I've been welding for over 30 years with a 220 stick and cheap Sears mig, but never done tig. I'm a hobby welder not a professional but over the ...

another new texan
I'm retired and mess with old cars and carburetor setups, and weld a little as part of those two hobbys. I've been welding for more than thirty years with stick and mig, and just acquired a tig machine which I hope to teach myself to use with the help of Jody's videos. I do not consider myself a wel...
