I've been following this one ....
Looks like Josh knew what was being questioned...just keeping it under his hat.
Even tho Bart explained it, I had to look it up to SEE what it was.
Now the fix ....

Re: Amper Mig?

I "think" what the OP is asking is referring to AUTO SET, but we don't know what machine he's got. So, if you set all info into the machine - wire type and diameter, material type and thickness, WILL the machine automatically adjust amps and wire feed speed? I personally don't have a fancy...

Hello Nick and welcome from the US. If you can explain to all of us what your experience level is, it would help to provide you with direction. First, you need to "learn" your machine. I know the instructions that come with many of them is almost an instruction manual...but it will help yo...

Re: Cast Aluminum Case Repair - need a tip & trick!

tweake is right. try running a bead without filler to get the crap cooked out. You will clean the hell out of it, go to weld it and from absolutely no where ..... crap comes up thru the weld. I just did a oil cooler, I cleaned the sunovagun for ever, THOUGHT I had it clean, ran a pre filler pass, sh...

Re: Primeweld TIG 225x Review/Discussion

in some of the pictures it appears that you have the tungsten shoved too far in the torch and the torch cap is catching threads just enough to bind the tungsten. As long as the o ring is down in the top of the torch, you should get a seal. IF the o ring isn't sealing and you have too much stick out,...

Re: New to Tig.... where to start?

What Louie said. Before you start adding filler material, just run the torch along the base material so you can get a feel for the operation. Just like in the video, use steel as it is more forgiving to errors and there will be errors during the learning process ... and every day is a learning proce...

Re: An odd question to all pro welders

There are limitations as to what you can get done. I Don't know the strength of your arms and legs, I don't know what type of work you are looking to do. It all depends on your mindset and determination. Where buggy works, I doubt you could get it done. Where Spartan works, there are things you coul...

Re: Newbie - what am I doing wrong (aluminum tig)

get some 6061 coupons 1/8 thick. get a stainless steel brush and brush the material in one direction to remove the oxide layer. Set your amps at 150 to get the puddle started in 1-3 seconds and work the pedal as needed. Keep the torch perpendicular to the material and up to 10 degree tilt while PUSH...

Re: New to me older HTP Tig welding equipment ...

welcome to the house. As cj stated, you are using too high of gas flow ... 2x the size of the cup will work for what you are doing. Steel is more forgiving should you error in torch angle, distance from work piece and adding filler. You want the torch almost straight up to the work piece and about t...

how is it those were broken? What happened?
looks to me that those steps found an accident that found a place to happen. I did a repair on steps that "caught" a large rock and tore them all to hell. Some of the base material was missing and I did a repair as well as I could.

That does suck. Did you use your credit card to get the purchase completed?? Perhaps you could go thru them to get the situation rectified. Tell them to stop the payment if you don't get satisfaction, but do it NOW,,, that's what they are there for.

Re: Cracks in center of weld

hello. been looking at the pictures ..... to my OLD eyes, it appears that there are several stops and starts, which may cause reason for the cracks to start and follow the weld bead. At the start and stop points there is porosity which again be cause of cracking. You may aslo be pulling junk from th...

Re: Primeweld 225 - Slow amperage reaction with pedal

from the pictures of the face of the primeweld 225, there are controls for the control of the amp feed...upslope, downslope, 2t and 4t. You may want to make sure that the switch for pedal is in 2t position, the upslope is on zero and the same with down slope. Should make any changes, make them one a...
