Re: Tressel Table
table looks great! Question for you - what are the rivets you used? do you have a source? are they glued in place somehow? I have considered shaker bolts for the next project but am open to other alternatives Sorry for the late response. I haven't been on for awhile. The rivets start out as carriag...

Re: coffee cart
Burley are you using gun and bucking bar on the rivets or just tac welding the backs? craig They start as carriage bolt. I chuck them up in the drill and smooth the head on the belt sander. I then cut the head off leaving the square shoulder. I drill a hole big enough for the shoulder to fit in and...

coffee cart
For my wife's birthday a month back I built this 'coffee cart'. It's sort of a multi-functioning piece. It houses our water cooler as well as adds additional countertop space for our coffee marker and cups.

Re: Tressel Table
The table measures 6'x3'. I completely agree about taking on everything that comes in the door, and for the most part I have been. Just this weekend I've decidedto make a big change to the layout in my shop. I'm splitting the metal the metal and wood areas to opposite ends of the shop. Before it was...

weldin mike 27 wrote:Have you considered selling on Etsy? It's a selling site for makers
I thought about etsy but two things give me pause. First is I would like to sell it local. Second is it weighs a ridiculous amount. Shipping really isn't an option. I'll have to look into if there is a local pickup option only.

Re: Tressel Table
I'm back on the dinning room tressel table today. I'm really happy with the way the stretcher turned out. I brought it inside to get an idea of how it will look. I'm leaning towards just clear coating it. What do you guys think?

Tressel Table
I recently ran across some reclaimed Douglas Fur a few weeks back for a somewhat reasonable price. It came off a dam when the dam was torn down and supposedly is around 90 years old. I'm not much of a wood worker but I wanted to try my hand at building an industrial table. Here is what I've come up ...

Re: wine holder
If you take a few minutes and scotchbrite the cooled roll before you weld it, it will yield less spatter and less clean up afterwards. You can also spray Pam on the metal to prevent any spatter beads from sticking. I took each piece to the belt sander. The splatter isn't bad, no matter what, you ar...

wine holder
I decided to build my wife's Christmas gift this year. It's a wine holder/wall art(ish). I got a few other people interested and I'm building a few more now. I TIG welded the first one but that took way to long to be able to make any money on the additional ones. I just did my best to dial in my mil...
