Re: Illumi-WELD light for helmet
I believe as a first time poster here that you were indeed a little harsh. I will state my opinion as well so we can both be clear. While I have taken some of Oscar's comments the wrong way in the past, I don't think his intention is to belittle anyone in any way, I think his posts are well intende...

Re: How to prevent general welding projects from rusting?
Boeshield has 2 products, Rust Free and T-9. Rust Free will remove rust and T-9 will prevent it. Rust Free actually has a pleasant smell to it, and does a good job at removing rust. T-9 less pleasant, but it does a good job at preventing it. Unfortunately if you leave it outside I'm not sure it will...

Re: Linde UCC-305
Is there a switch that says remote or local? Josh, I looked at one of these at Auction about a year back, it had a large box that was connected to it for the Heliarc. This is a BIG welder and uses a LOT of power. It looked much smaller online, so I was glad I didn't bid on it. I will add this pic f...

Re: Plasma table for a PrimeWeld CUT60
Yes my TIG at the full 220A (on TIG mode) pulls about 32A from the outlet. In all fairness, the Primeweld is not rated quite as low as your 221 DV. It is rated at 34 amps for what your DV is rated for 32 amps. Also, keep in mind, this is NOT the case for stick, MMA is 46.3 amps at full 180 amp capa...

Re: PrimeWeld TIG 225 adventure begins
Av8tor - you might try some 6013 on DCEN. Your machine will run those quite nicely, and the beads will provide a very nice finish appearance. Set your machine to Stick, DC, then swap your leads. I bet you ditch the 6010 afterwards. Great penetration, easy restarts, light flux. Hmmm...I may have to ...

Re: Welding Table advice
Crown up, clamp center to rib on the underside, weld 1” long stitch to either side. You don’t need much weld length. If the balance of the surface is flat, small stitches spread through the field of the table on underside will keep it flat. Work from the center to edge. Sorry, just saw Toolie’s rep...

Holy hell, I had you confused with another guy who posted a YouTube video after purchasing a 225X right about the same time that you appear to have and who also works in a garage with limited space. So I put 2-n-2 together and came up with 3. Apologies. :D No worries...but just to say, that guy has...

Alright Alan, I just *had* to track it down to see where I zigged when I should have zagged. The guy's name is actually Bruce, so yeah, not you. :D lol He ran a few beads in SMAW mode too. Anyway just for funzzies, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scHEf0lphb8&t=1048s Perhaps sh...

Re: Plasma table for a PrimeWeld CUT60
Really? A 225A TIG welder runs on only 30A input? I'm a-gonna have to read a bit of the manual later today when I make it out to the workshop! Absolutely, it has a 34.x Imax. Check the label on the rear, I posted it here in WTAT also. That's the entire reason I asked for a better shot of the CUT60 ...

Wait...who is Mike exactly? The owner of PrimeWeld or a rep or ... ? Does he have the authority to issue refunds there? I haven't contacted PrimeWeld directly, but I would like to learn more about the company and the folk who work there. I believe Mike is the owner and Dustin works for him, but I c...

Re: Welding Table advice
I would pull it flat, and here's how I would do it. Go buy some u-bolts. I would get 14 of them. I would get them big enough to spread at least 2 holes so you could straddle the frame. I would place the cup side up, so that it pulls the cup down in the center. I would try to weld it in 3 sections. I...

Re: Primeweld Tig 225 welding cart
Got the rear posts started, but only got the long sides on the bottom...will try to get more time in tomorrow. Not my best looking welds, but at some point you need to keep plowing through on an actual project rather than just padding beads. It's the only way you learn how to build $#!T, IMO. http:/...

Re: PrimeWeld TIG 225 adventure begins
The problem is that I don't think that the 225X will run a 6010. I don't have any 6011s either. It seems to run both, and I'm no MMA pro by any means. I was looking for some Lincoln 5P+ 6010, but my LWS only had 5P, so I passed. I hear 5P+ is the shizzle for 6010. I say that I don't think it will b...

Re: Plasma table for a PrimeWeld CUT60
That said, I think that the 225X TIG welder also requires a 50A circuit breaker doesn't it? I haven't cracked open the manual yet, as the focus was on the plasma table today... If it does, what are you using to run it? No, I run mine on a 30 amp 240v circuit. It really requires 34.x I believe, but ...

Re: first time !
first time trying out some 7018 and i can see why you guys like it. smooth as. I like to think of 7018 as being similar to Scotch Whiskey (single malt), it's an acquired taste, and the more you use it the more you like it. It can sure cause havoc to restart if slag is on the end, that's the acquire...

Re: Plasma table for a PrimeWeld CUT60
Are you referring to the max input current? I seem to recall that it is 42-point-something amps for 110V and 48-point-something amps for 220V. Thus they suggest running it on a 50A breaker. I'll see if I can get a better picture of it for ya though, sure... Yes, that's exactly what I was after. The...

Could you get a better pic of the electrical label, I can't make out the numbers. I'm interested in Imax and Ieff for both 110v and 220v. (should be 120v and 240v, but Primeweld lists it as 110v/220v)

Re: Any way to identify 309 filler?
No worries, HERE is a YT video link. That's pretty convincing, maybe I should try with a stronger magnet...it sucks the 312 to the magnet pretty strong. I'll check it again when I'm out there. I also wonder if the size has something to do with it. That is 3/32" or 1/8" in that video. :?:

Re: Any way to identify 309 filler?
I realize the mystery is solved, but FYI 309 is slightly magnetic while 316 is not Hmmm....this doesn't seem to be, unless is it ever so slight. I have some 308 and it is not magnetic either, but I have what I believe to be 312 and it is magnetic. Are you sure that 309 is magnetic? EDIT: I hate to ...

I guess I should have said "it would be easy for me , YMMV". I can easily think a few small jigs that would allow one to do this, but like you said, its all moot at this point. Another project I didn't need. I could devise something also, but I'd rather spend my time doing some welding on...

The first label is 309 X .045 The second label is 316 X 1/16" So, which size is it? .045 or 1/16" ? It appears to me that the 316 label was put on by mistake. Winner winner, chicken dinner! I completely missed that, sometimes having eyeballs on the Internet is more helpful that one would ...
