Re: Arc force? On Tig?!?
Hmmm...I was under the impression that ARC force was something that was only done for stick. I'll try adjusting mine, I had it set around 30% when I was tigging yesterday. My machine is marked 'Stick" on the panel for ARC force. Maybe it depends on the implementation by the manufacture, but I d...

Nice, that'll work nicely.
I was a bit confused in looking at your pic, it looks like it's welded together.
I dug up the video on the web, or one video, there are probably many.

Re: Need opinion on purchase
Can't offer too much here, other than if you could use a 3x4, you could get the Certiflat 3x4 ProTable for $329+shipping. A bit shy of your 60" though. The Certiflat fabBlocks are a lot more for that size. You might be able ot use 2 ProTables side by side. If you're going to spend $250 for a sh...

Re: 6010 uphill.. Frustrating
Reading the docs for this XMT machine, it doesn't explain very well what the Inductance/Dig control does - at least not in a way that makes sense to a rookie like me. I did, however, find a thread on the Miller forums that explained it a little better, and, had a suggestion to run 6010 at 60% and 7...

Re: Welding Bronze?
Just make sure it is bronze and not brass. Indeed, brass has zinc in it and those fumes are not good. One of the main differences between bronze and brass is that bronze has tin in it where brass has zinc in it. Many of the old ships recovered which had bronze pieces onboard, the pieces are left in...

Re: Nova pedal potentiometer
Point gap? I never worried about it. Just took my new welder out of the box and been welding ever since. Yeah, mine is working and no worries, but the quality of the assembly has me scratching my head wondering if the more expensive welders have the same type of careless, sloppy assembly that I see...

Re: Nova pedal potentiometer
The upgraded pedal is the one that I have. td, Yes, you should have the Nova pedal then. Maybe there's hope for me to be a tungsten dipper too, I have one of those same pedals like you! 8-) (and hey, I can rhyme!) You can open it up easy enough, push those side spring pins in and pop the cover off....

Re: Nova pedal potentiometer
Did this pedal come with your Everlast, as an up-grade? td, My understanding is that the Nova line will be Everlast's premium line of products. I've heard they have other torches, consumables and accessories that will be offered within this premium line of products. Nova pedals are sold by Everlast...

Nova pedal potentiometer
Since the Nova pedals came out there has been a lot of talk about the Japanese potentiometer they have in them. Not a lot of info on them though, at least that i have seen. Well, that only means it must be taken apart and inspect, I can think of no other alternative...the good news is that no pedals...

Re: Because I'm a Tungsten Dipper....
Getting your arm/hand to slide is probably due to too much tension in your hand on your torch. Its easy to say, but difficult to do, but you need to relax your entire arm, shoulder, and wrist. Stop gripping that thing likes its your best friend ;) Hold it like you would if it were the hand of your ...

Chuck, I like it, and was recently trying to come up with something that was portable and could be moved around, I don't often need to take it anywhere, I mostly wanted to have it portable so I could pack it up when done with it, and get it out and set it up when I need to work. I'm not totally deci...

Allan I have a power TIG 200 DV. The only problem I had was erratic arc on AC.. It was easy to adjust the sparkgap two locking nuts and two screws... it was at .038, adjusted it to 30.. it seemed to fix the problem... still not great at low amps.. but better Rich, Mine looks different than they sho...

Lincoln markets Excalibur 7018 MR, so it is not like a rename. And Lincoln makes other 7018 electrodes ...which they've renamed. Never heard of kiswel, but their website (and your photo) says it's er70-s2. Why would they rename it, who knows, maybe the same reason Lincoln renamed 7018 to Excalibur. Re: Help, Running 220 to Garage From Sub-box Possible?
The standard welding plug/circuit is 50 amps. That is not necessarily true. Many modern inverter based welding machines run off a 30 amp 240/220v circuit. I run my Dynasty TIG box all day amp for instance and have never popped a fuse. But most older transformer based welders do use much higher ampe...
