Re: Lincoln 350MP Flux core or pulse

I'm assuming he's referring to dual shield flux core. I've heard some criticism that running that in flat position is prone to getting slag trapped underneath. I've done some testing myself and I have seen it on occasion. Dual shield is awesome for out-of-position welds, like vert up and overhead. P...

Re: To Replace My Old Machine or not?

I've been running my old Millermatic 35 since the late '70s and have loved this welder. It's built tons of projects over the years, off-road race cars, trailers, all kinds of small projects. Best tool I ever bought! I'm old now, but still love to do metal projects. My machine still runs, but basic ...

And after 2 weeks of covid slowed shipping, I got a set. Thanks for the part number, I don't know why my LWS couldn't find it.

What wire are you using? What diameter and alloy? (4043, 5356?)

And what's your gas flow rate?

Re: Can a low 7018 exposure to moisture can problems?

So mild steel does not have a problem under these cold temperatures but any kind of no low-hy welding may cause shattering problems? MIG and TIG are low-hy processes but it is rarely mentioned. You're saying an Er70 mig or tig weld is considered a low hyd weld?? Sent from my SM-G970W using Tapatalk...

Re: Can a low 7018 exposure to moisture can problems?

Mild steel is not but hydrogen rich welds are. That's one instance you need low hydrogen rods, mig or tig processes. Start with what welder you're using, and what electrodes.

First thing that came to mind is it mounts onto the back of a welding cart so you can feed 50lb spools of wire to a smaller machine that can only take smaller spools.

I agree with CJ. Have a look at some of the bird poop holding most metal chairs together, if that stuff holds yours should do, if you take the time to clean it properly.

Re: Bobcat 250 parts

Search for "bushing, Tank Fuel" Older bobcats used a 124253 part number. https://weldingsupply.com/cgi-bin/einstein.pl?PNUM::1:UNDEF:X:124253 Amazon has a 2 pak also. That would be too easy! Thanks for the part number, I should be able to find one somehow https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/...

If can't get the Miller part number, I'll try a pack of these off these fuel tank grommets off Amazon. The measurements all match so it might work.

Thats what I tried, that's what the bushing on the brass sleeve in the picture is. It lasted a few hours are turned completely hard and brittle.

Bobcat 250 parts

I'm trying to get this Bobcat 250 running, I got it for a good price its sat on a service truck most its life. Only 100 engine hours on it. Anyways the issue I've got now is the gromet that seals around the fuel suction line cracked and started leaking gas. I got a new one that fits both the hole an...

Re: Lincoln Tig 200 Square Wave, anyone using?

I picked mine up used about 18 months ago. It is a nice machine for home use. I am pretty happy with it. Some stream of conscious thoughts follow. On the stick side, I have used it with 6011 for a few times for some TJ frame repair and a brush hog job at my Mom's. I have also played around a little...

Jody did a video a while back about a hammer he made. I modified the materials and dimensions some and made one for myself after work tonight. Figured it'd be a fun project, and it was. waLv7XqTSJ4 Used 3/8 x 4 hot rolled stock and cut it into 1-3/4" pieces for the 4 sides, then one more piece...
