Nice Job, especially for your first aluminum, I do like the straps!77cruiser wrote:No BOOM, didn't come out too bad for first time welding aluminum. Made some straps for it, instead of the tabs being bolted to the box.

Re: Sharp tungsten
And get a wheel with a fine grit, I use a 120 and now want to go to a 160 or finer, anything less than 80 give to much grind lines.

Re: Eye discomfort
I have a question about when Im using my tig welder the next day I have a discomfort on my right eye, not sand sensation on the eye but a discomfort, I bought a tig welder a few months ago and I’m learning how to use it but lately I barely use the tig and I end up to do everything with my old chica...

Re: Complete beginner from Las Vegas
Welcome, I too have just joined here, I am not new to welding but always looking to learn more.
I would say start at the bottom and learn your stick welding first, then move on to Mig and Tig, have to crawl before you walk, just a thought.

Re: Everlast 250ex vs 255ext
There's also more to break with an analog machine. Dials are potentiometers, which can wear out. I have had that problem on a couple of my ham radios. Me I would go with the machine with fewer moving parts. Less stuff for the metal dust to get into and mess with. In addition the 255EXT has solid st...

Re: Has anyone have or had Dupuytren's (trigger finger)
In two weeks I'm going under the knife to repair my dominate hand, for trigger finger. Dupuytren's contracture occurs when tissues in your hand thicken. The thickened tissue may form cords that extend from your palm to your finger. The cord may shorten, and your palm or finger may become stuck in a...

Re: How much of a problem will this be? Fuel tank
I have done these before also and agree with the others about filling with water to just below the cut/weld line, and purging the rest with argon or Co2 and venting. Biggest Thing, approach this with caution, especially if you have never done this before, if you even think it will explode it probabl...

Re: Everlast 250ex vs 255ext
I've used both, much prefer the 250dx, I like analog and also seems to be a bit more reliable. I can see all the settings with just a quick glance at the panel. I like the word "reliable" and I too have thought with the dials I can give a quick view of my settings. Thanks for the response.

Everlast 250ex vs 255ext
I am looking to replace my Lincoln idealarc tig 250/250 mostly because it doesn't do aluminum very good, steel's assume, and then there is the power use. Question is, "IF" I go Chinese, is there any reliability difference between the 250ex and 255ext? Or any real big difference. I have put...

Foot Pedal replacement
I have a Lincoln Idealarc Tig 250/250 that I have had since new, long time. I have recently started doing more aluminum and feeling like my foot control is not tapering off the way it should. Maybe from age or dirty. Foot control is a Lincoln K813. Question, if I replace the control should I use the...
