Big thanks to fellow member Ylwgtr for sending a copy of the manual through, cheers mate. Seems the offending plug is a “arc on signal” receptacle.......any one enlighten me as to what that does??

Re: Workshop layout

Might be helpful to know what type of work you plan to do in the new shop. If its all metal fab, cutting and welding, then what type of machines/tools do you have that need sorting? If you're a machinist, then clean areas are wicked important. I had to rebuild my home shop not 2 years ago, and I wi...

Re: Workshop layout

oversize the wiring. even on a 15a plug you will draw a lot more. less volt drop the better. also makes it easier to fit 32 amp plugs. put in good lighting. also fit insulation etc. keep it dry and keep excess heat out. treat it like a house more than a shed. i use ply on the walls. makes it easy t...

Re: Melting through tube edges

Just to confirm, you’re running A/C? I run my tacks pretty hot but aim the arc to the solid tube and drag it down to the mitred/coped tube. I run an old transformer machine, no pedals, no pulse and find it does a good job. Let us know how you get on on the weekend!!!

Re: New to Aluminium Tig, no penetration

you may find it will crack during operation due to the heat shrink/expansion Ah yeah, I was hoping cause it doesn't have any stress (weight - only a filter) on it, it might be ok so I didn't bother bevelling it out ( I def thought it about it), but what you say about heat is a good point. It it bre...

Ive tripped the breaker once, but starting to think it was my mig crapping out not the power supply. I would go the 250, even if you have to run ...

Re: Mig elec problem? Not solenoid....

Darrin, just a thought, it will probably turn out to be useless, but I'm wondering 2 things. Can you for experimental purpose substitute the original solonoid back into the machine (electrically only) and power it back up to see what happens? Second thought, might try it first, swap the wires going...

Also, do you wear glasses to read? I do and can’t weld without them. You may have the shade level to high also, if you have an adjustable darkness lid, play with the settings and see how you go mate.

this is the inside pics.
