When should i reverse polarity? DC+ to DC-

So i was reading the instructions on my new little Inverter stick welder/TIG... and it suggests that you can reverse polarity if you are welding thinner material. (from my understanding typically you dont stick weld below 1/8th thick.. 3.16mm) Currently i am welding 2mm Corten sheet to 16mm round bl...

Thanks for the replys,
IT appears thaty 1%nickel rods are what you want to match patina.. at least on single pass. Dont take that %100 from me, do double check.

Generators and welders thoughts?

Thought id make a new thread asking about Generators.. So i was looking at getting a 250amp welder in my other thread... problem is that in Aus you need a 15amp outlet at your house to run such a unit. As getting a 15amp outlet maybe a bit tricky where i am now (waiting to get a elec t check it out)...

Re: G'day..

Gday mate, I’m running a 180 amp mig and a 200 tig, both 15 amp plugs running an adaptor i made to a 10 amp socket, I think most houses are wired 20 amps? Ive tripped the breaker once, but starting to think it was my mig crapping out not the power supply. I would go the 250, even if you have to run...

Re: Want opinions, thinking of buying this welder..

240 volt for everything single phase. 10 amp standard house hold socket. 10 amps of 240 volts will do one hell of a lot of welding, as long as you're working the low end of the machine's ability. I've put an Amprobe on my Miller MM-200 and quite a few others, and running at the top of the low range...
