Re: TIG Issue - No Arc but No Changes

Im not sure if this is your issue but IMO its worth a try. Set the machine to stick welding DC electrode negative. Do NOT use a foot pedal/torch switch or anything like that. Set amps to 50-100. Get a Clean piece of steel and put your ground clamp on. Also make sure all your torch connections are go...

Re: What’s this called?

Thanks for the replies! Looks like I'll have to resolder. I found one at arc zone either for $50 or $150 but can't remember now. Too much either way. No not both ends are male. I have two of those things, one from pedal to pulser and the other from pulser to welder, and I just happened to get both m...

What’s this called?

What’s this called? It is an adapter from my syncrowave 250 which connects the foot pedal to the pulser (miller pc-300) and the pulser to the syncrowave. If it’s not too expensive I’d like to buy a new one. If not I’ll have to resolder it since most of the connections broke

Re: What TIG welding stuff to buy?

Check your local weld shop. Even if you spend a little more, your building a relationship that could save you a lot of $ down the road if this is something you like to do or want to make a career out of. Where I live we have several shops. If you check them all you will find that each one keeps low...

What TIG welding stuff to buy?

Can someone give me some advice on what TIG welding stuff to buy? Do you need to have different size tungstens or can you just grind them differently? Is there a big difference in consumable quality? Im not sure of the prices at the weld store but this seems like a pretty good deal: https://www.ebay...

Re: Different fillers

I hoped that there would only be one type of filler as it would be cheaper to get less different grades and because my preferred weld store is over 100km away ( stuff is a LOT cheaper there) I don’t go there all that often.

Different fillers

So i don’t even have a tig welder yet, but I sure would love to learn! I was wondering, since there are different grades of alluminium and stainless do you need to have different filler wires as well or can you use the same? Like using the same filler for 6061 and 7075?

Thanks!

Re: Criticize my welds please

Are you pushing or pulling and what settings are you using. Also, what gas? I am going to guess pulling from the look of the weld. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk I pushed this one. The Migmaster 250 doesn’t have any digital displays which tell the volts or ipm but I can tell you what I used I...

Re: What electrodes to buy

what can I do to help keep the rods from sticking? "set amps high enough that you don't stick when you hold a tight arc, then hold a tight arc" one of jody's quotes. Ok. I have heard that the diameter of an eletrode tells how much amps you need. 1/4 inch=250 amp 18/inch=125 amp 3/32=93 am...
