Re: Miller classic auto darkening, can't see anything
Yes I'm using the same helmet. It's as if the plasma doesn't light up the surroundings as much as in stick welding. The shade grades are all standard according to specification. I weld TIG at 8 and stick and MIG at 11. If those shades aren't letting you see it is for one of two reasons I believe: o...

3 times you had the opportunity to leave it but one person or another wanted to continue to talk about it. Don't put the blame on any one person. And don't get your panties in a wad. The OP admitted he shouldn't have started it and that should be it. No harm. No foul. Move on. By continuing to make ...

I disagree. Keep reading the next verses. But you, Israel, are My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, The descendants of Abraham My friend. You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its farthest regions, And said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cas...

Re: My hitch project, so how did it turn out?
Good advice there. About encouraging each other and helping a brother out. Finally something that relates to this forum. You don't understand the word. This passage is not a picture of brotherly support. It is a picture of fear of the people and them scrambling to fight against what God has brought...

hang on, hang on!! The islands see and fear, the ends of the earth tremble. They approach and come forward. Each one helps the other, and says to his brother, “Be strong!” The craftsman encourages the goldsmith, and he who wields the hammer cheers him who strikes the anvil, saying of the soldering,...

Re: Lap Joints - Thick to Thin
I hope someone comes to back me up on this but I'd MIG it. 6010 just seems a little too much for the 5/32 chassis but it is all in how you weld it. Now I don't know much about mechanics and upgrading automotive parts but when it comes to welding structural thinner plate, MIG is good for it since it ...

I'm probably not the one to answer this but I was interested in the topic so I found this Kemppi 10 pin connector and potentiometer. I'm not sure if it's what you need or if you can get it from them. I'm guessing you just need to know exactly which pin it is for your machine and what potentiometer t...

Re: setup dual schedule on old Miller 75 series wire feeder
I will try to help if I can. You have to program settings into the machine and save them via the Program button prior to activating which Trigger Control mode. The DS (dual schedule), TH (trigger hold), 4T, TDS (trigger dual schedule) and TPS (trigger program schedule) all operate independently more...

Re: Steel vs aluminum bead shape/profile
It just sounds like it's cold if the rod is sticking frequently. The secret to stainless and mild steel is going hotter and faster. You can only go as hot as you can go fast though. So I'd increase the amps slightly and try and keep up, burying the filler in as you go. Then increase the amps again u...

Re: Steel vs aluminum bead shape/profile
I'm sure you'll get better answers with more information than what I have but steel is fundamentally different from aluminum and this feature of lower sitting welds is one of those fundamental differences. It's going to be lower than aluminum by default, no blame to technique or settings. However, y...

As long as you don't know God, do not mention him or I will certainly make it known to you what you are missing. Live your life and do whatever is right in your own eyes but whatever you do, do not mention God while you are doing that, deceiving yourself. But hey, you can't have your cake and eat it...

Re: Oxygen tanks
It looks to me as though the gas lines will only fit into those style tanks. But I assume if you were to get a gas flow regulator for the oxygen tanks and an adapter, if even available, for your torch lines then you could get the same oxygen levels in your torch and it would work. But, I don't think...

Looks cool. Hey I'd be interested in seeing more of the welds and see if I or others can't give any pointers. If you're interested. Looking at this weld here it appears that there is some undercut. Re: Tungsten dis-colouring
That's great. You won't have to have as much EP balance if you clean the weld area prior to welding. Too much EP balance may cause the aluminum to spit back onto the tungsten given enough amperage. For practice it's not necessary to clean the weld area but for production it's the only way to get con...

Re: Cast to Ductile Help
I forgot about DCEP as well. I'm sure it will help and I suspect with a more uniform fusion from the new rod it will make for an easier time to fit the tolerances and it won't be so hit or miss and nerve wracking. At least I hope.
