Thanks for all your replies.
It turned out that practicing a bit did all the difference, who would have thought
My welder is a bit finicky at these higher amp/wfs settings so I have to be careful when adjusting the settings.

WFS setting for fillets
Hi, I have a question regarding power settings when welding t-joints. I know the rule of thumb with 1 amp for every 0.01" thickness and 2 ipm/amp for .030 wire. But in a t-joint I'm not trying to get fusion all the way through the thickness of the material... right? I want to have good fusion a...

Re: Feedback on welds [newbie]
Ok so I'm trying to butt weld some rectangular tubing now.
I'd appreciate some feedback on this. It's front and back of the weld with the front side being shot on the short side of the tube.
Thanks in advance.

Re: wire speed controler
I think 2k2A means that it is a 2.2kOhm logarithmic pot. I doubt that you'll be able to measure that in circuit though but if you get it out to measure you might as well put in a new one as it shouldn't be more than a few of dollars.

Hi, this thread was a mistake. The actual thread is a few posts down and is titled "Feedback on welds [newbie]".Erik Mannie wrote: I don't see a picture.

I have a Telwin Mastermig 220/2. I think it's an ok welder.

Re: Feedback on welds [newbie]
... I would say you have it about right - just work on consistency . Thanks for the feedback. I was trying out different settings and travel speeds. If you would have to pick one out of them as "the best" which would it be? If I had something to aim for I could go back to my notes and try...

Feedback on welds [newbie]
Hi, I'm learning to weld and was experimenting with some T-joints. I cut and etched them but realized that I don't know what I'm looking for. To me it looks like good fusion but I wouldn't really know now, being a total noob and all :) I'd love some feedback on them. Thanks Einar https://uploads.tap...

How are these welds looking [newbie]
Hi, I'm new to welding and trying to something approximating a weld bead on a T-joint. I made some experimental welds and cut and etched them but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. To me it looks like good penetration but what do I know. I'd love some feedback on them. // Einar Skickat från min SM-G...
