Tweepy,

That looks very good for you first weld. Just starting tig here also and can relate.

Went with budget machine also and very happy. When you find the limits of that machine you will know exactly what you want in the next one.

Re: Question about posting pictures

Thanks Mike, But I don't think I'm a face book person. The guys sister is cute but they are the devil. If you can work your magic and get me a membership to the weld.com forum I would except. It appears that there system is broken and either they do not know or care. Have tried everything and can no...

Can someone fill in the gap weld. Com

Not trying to get the Jody worshippers, panties into a bunch with this question. It’s just an honest question based on observations.

Re: Fcaw-g vs fcaw-s vs smaw

A hobbyist can often have more educational knowledge than a pro. The difference lies in experience, in the actual work environment. For example most people start by working for other people. They are supervised and given higher responsibility with time. Their work gets scrutinized in real time. They...

Figured something happened because I looked and could not find. There was World Wide Welders or something but none of the user names matched what I see here.

Thank you folks, That was the best bead by far. If you zoom on the other photo it is not as pretty. I did not want to share any close ups of the bad ones. It’s gonna take awhile to add filler good enough to want to share. Of course if I get stuck in rut I will share. [emoji13] Sent from my iPhone us...

Re: Fcaw-g vs fcaw-s vs smaw

You decided to run dual shield on the beam?

I somehow missed the transition from stick to dual shield. Seems to be very popular for thicker steel.

You called Hobart and told them your project and they recommended wire?

And Oscar had already nailed it?

Re: torch amp ratings

Thanks everybody. Read through each post. Got in a some hood time today and realized it would just be better to wait for the moment. The torch and cable that came with the machine are adequate. Also it will be rare that I'm running beads for 1/2 hour straight. When that project comes I'll switch. Th...

Re: Question about torch cable

Ok Got more hood time today and thought about the cable more and the torch. Think the torch that came with the welder is just fine. When it becomes noticeable that it's inadequate I will just upgrade then. I don't think it's necessary that I learn on the 20 series. After today I think it would just ...

I haven't got a problem with the quality of the pictures. I can post any pictures I want off my phone. Once upon a time, you couldn't post phone pictures because even the smallest resolution was too big. That's why I started the welders around the world Facebook page. (formally known as the welding...

Re: Question about torch cable

Ok, The cable that came with my torch is very slinky and flexible. Problem being, all my experience building things previously did not involve welding. So when I hear people talk about super flex and 20 series torch I get alert. Another issue is, I do not have any access to a professional welding sh...

From what I have read there are lots of ways to build a water cooler. From complex pumps to simple running supply water in and letting drain to daylight on other end. It appears that buying an expensive cooler is not always required. As there are some very talented people running diy coolers of vary...

torch amp ratings

It’s the first part of my question left unanswered.

Do you find that having more cables in the 20 series torch has a negative effect of on comfortability.

Compared to one cable on a 9-17 torch.

Guess the question was not clear?

Question about torch cable

Is there any difference between the CK premium Super Flex cable and the torch cable that comes with the AHP 201 XD?

Also can someone measure the outside diameter of there 9 or 17 series super flex cable. So I can compare diameter to what I got. Use a caliper.

Re: torch amp ratings

For the guys who run the 20 series torch with a water cooler. Do you find any negative effect from having more cables coming to the torch than its air cooled brother, as related to comfort while welding. Would you recommend a new guy going with a 20 series and never looking back? The water cooler bu...

Simclardy,

Just curious. Are you a hobbyist or weld for a living?

I’m guessing you are a home builder who welds?

Give us all an update on how the wiring went and if your welder works.

What do you make with your welder?
