Since you don't have to invest in a machine,try out different size,types of collets,gas lenses,stubby kits,types of tungsten etc. Start building a personnel serious torch kit. Breaking off the tungsten end with pliers/dykes, etc.; prior to point grinding, is a great way to induce tight fracturing down the length. I actually had some in my little plastic tig supply box .It seemed to hold up very good with aluminum while I was doing some aluminum drills .It worked well with steel as well. Gonna be ordering some !
