I need to weld 16 gauge aluminum. I only have 3/32 tungsten and filler rod right now. I have a 200 amp inverter machine with pulse. Can I weld 16 gauge aluminum with 3/32 tungsten and rod?

Do you clean aluminum with acetone before you wire brush the metal or after? Is it okay to use a flapper wheel instead of a wire brush?

What would you guys set your parameters to for welding 1/8 aluminum with 3/32 tungsten? amperage, balance and frequency?

Should you match your tungsten and filler rod diameter? For instance if I’m using 3/32 tungsten should I use 3/32 filler rod or can I use any size? What do you guys do?

Ok because I did have a high school diploma but I lost it. I know I can get a replacement by just calling my school. But I began to think maybe I won't need it. I do have my college welding program diploma though.

Do y'all match your tungsten size with the same filler rod size? Because I have 1/8 tungsten but I only have 3/32 filler. Is that fine or is it better to match the tungsten and filler rod size?

So I'm welding 1/4 inch aluminum but I only have 3/32 tungsten is that fine? Or would it be better to use 1/8 tungsten ?

What's the difference between pulse and no pulse? I just bought a tig welder.

So how should I prep my tungsten for AC welding? Should I taper or ball the tip of the tungsten? Or do both work?

No one seems to advertise the gases prices online. Do any of you know how much a 80cf bottle of c25 gas would cost and a 80cf bottle of argon?

I've done stringers all my life with 7018 for the root pass. What do you guys do for the root pass with 7018, stringers or weave beads?

I've only ran 6011 and I'm curious if 6010 is better than 6011? If so why is it better? Does it run the same as a 6011?

What amerpage would you run a 1/8 7018 on a 1/2 inch plate of steel in the 3g position for the root pass. I did mine at 110 amps and the root came out good. I'm just curious as to what y'all would run your root at?

Do y'all ever preheat before running a root pass with 7018? I've notice when I do a root pass in 3g and 4g with a preheat it's much easier nice and stable arc. Like on 1/2 inch steel I do 200 degree preheat

I'm just curious as to what is constant current and constant voltage? What welding processes have it?

I solved my problem what I did was hold a tight arc but instead of holding a 90 degree rod angle I went down 15-20 degrees. So that 90 degree rod angle is what was messing me up. So that slight push works way better than 90 degrees

Ok and also what angle should I be using? because I always use a 90 degree angle but some people say to always have a slight push angle 10-15 degrees

I'm holding a tight arc and I hold my rod at 90 degrees but then I start seeing globs of metal falling
