I used scotchbrite discs on a right angle drill.

What size filler rod? What was your amperage setting? What size electrode? What cfm on the argon? The pros on here will want to know so they can give you better advice.

I haven't seen any of the utv racing series that I've researched certifying the cages. They have requirements and at track inspections though. The series I want to run in, it more than meets their requirements. As fun as it was to design, build and weld, I'm glad its finally done. Now I can get back...

Epoxy primer and some ppg base coat clear coat.

I'm a noob, but I would drill the handle and tack it to the pot. I'd put some tacks around the outside of the handle too. I'd start the puddle on the handle and try to walk it over to the pot. Not sure if this is good advice or not. Somebody with a lot more experience will respond soon.

I got the JD2 model 32 bender with the swag hydraulic adapter. Worked great. I used 1/16" rod for most of the welds. Used 3/32" for the connectors with more amperage to get more filler built up. I used a sync180jr notcher. It worked great too.

From the research I was looking at on the fastenal site, 1/2" grade 8 bolt should have estimated 13,367lbs shear strength. Thanks for the compliment. I've got too many hours into building and designing it.

The connectors are solid 4130 chromoly. With 1/2" grade 8 hardware. I'm sure they are much stronger than the tubing itself. My welds from last night.

Door bars all done. Now just lacking roof mount tabs and window net tabs.

They aren't pretty but they seemed to have good penetration. The 4 corners where I attached the connectors I did 2 passes. Second pass I kind of zig zagged to get some more material on there.

All the bars are fabbed. 80% of the welds are done. Need to take it off and weld the ones I couldn't get to. And after welding a few of the overhead bars I've determined overhead welding is a nightmare lol.

Should be done with fab work this weekend.
