Ohh, and I converted a backpack battery powered lawn sprayer to use as my cooler. Works perfect.

Re: How hot does your tig torch get?
I upgraded from a ck17 air cooled to a ck18 liquid cooled, and man what a difference in comfort! Well worth it. After long welding sessions at 150A, it never gets more than barely warm.
I would have gone with a smaller torch but didn’t want to have to invest in more consumables.

Too hot to stay comfortable on long sessions. Water cooled setup will be here next week.

Re: Pferd Alumaster
Price tag to me is $1424 +tax (Canadian) + $156 +tax for the recommended torque limiting screwdriver. 4 neuton meters if my memory serves me correctly. Pricey but definitely nicey, They did a cost analysis for a large shipbuilding firm in the US and they said a task that took 8-10 minutes with conv...

Re: coat rack from eye bolts
You can’t buy a coat rack that sturdy, that’s for sure. It’ll be around for a long long time.

Tigging aluminum is a lot harder than I thought, but I’m looking forward to the challenge.

Re: Pferd Alumaster
What was the final price tag? Well the rep showed up that day and explained to me there a miscommunication and he didn't have a portion of the tool to show me. He had it rush shipped up here and it arrived yesterday, he came in today. My oh my what a aluminium removal to this is. Cuts smooth with no...

Re: CK alternative?
I think that a 20(water cooled) series torch is the same family(parts) as a 9(air cooled)series torch. The 18 series torch is the water cooled version of a 17 series air cooled torch. Bottom line: 17 & 18 are interchangeable. 9 & 20 are interchangeable. 17 is not interchangeable with 9 or 2...

CK alternative?
I’m looking for a water cooled torch to replace my CK #17 flex air cooled. Will a #20 water cooled use the same sized consumables from the #20 air cooled? What’s a good alternative to CK that is priced better?

Almost got the Primeweld Tig225X
The only thing that’s holding me back is that it is HF stay only, no lift start. I don’t know If I’ll ever want/need to weld to a car or truck but you can’t do that with high frequency, right? Won’t it potentially damage the car’s ECU and other electronics? Is there another machine in the price rang...
