One of them says that in the .pdf manual, that at that setting the unit can run continuously for one hour, and seems to be independent of the normal duty cycle ratings listed. He said he wasn't too sure, but that's what he got from the man...

By the way, that's a heck of a deal you got on that tombstone. Also, if you plan to run that on a generator, you will have to either cut the end of the cable off and change to a generator plug (about $30), or make a very short pigtail converter from Generator plug to 220v plug.

Hey Rick... You CAN run that on a generator, however..... (don't you hate it when people say that?) That Lincoln needs a 40 amp 220 line. MOST generators with a 220v line are only 30 amp. Suggestion - Get you a big heap of scrap and do a lot of testing. Each time you get good results, write it down. When you have a chart of starting settings, write in on the side of you machine with a Sharpie. Now, these settings are ONLY a starting point. It will change with each type of joint also....

This is a really handy clamp that I made one day. It's just 2 clamps, one long piece of angle iron, and 2 short pieces of angle iron. It allows me to clamp up round or square tube and weld them together on 3 sides, then reposition.

I build A LOT of A/C security cages on site, and for that, I use a Lincoln Handy-Core. It is a flux core only machine that uses .035 wire. Works like a champ. Flux-core cane do a lot more than people think, once you get good at it and know it's limitations.
