I have a 90-tooth TCT blade. It didn't work well for cutting 304 Stainless. I haven't used it for much else beyond Aluminum.

Re: metal supplies am i the last to know
Unless you need a very special piece of metal or live so far back in the woods that they have to pump in sunshine, it is usually far more cost-effective to purchase metal locally -- especially if you can't pass on the cost. Internet supply companies mostly have higher prices and you need to figure i...

Re: Soap stone????????
From Wikipedia: " Soapstone (also known as steatite or soaprock) is a metamorphic rock, a talc-schist. It is largely composed of the mineral talc and is thus rich in magnesium. It is produced by dynamothermal metamorphism and metasomatism, which occurs in the areas where tectonic plates are sub...

Re: Why isn't this forum more active?
kermdawg, sros, Is this a trend? I welded my first bead when I was thirteen. I learned to program a computer the same year. I'm giving away my age, but the primary languages were BASIC, PASCAL, FORTRAN, COBOL, and assembler. The Apple IIe was the most advanced small computer available. In high scho...

Re: Why isn't this forum more active?
I wouldn't presume to speak for everyone, but I'm sure many of the people on this forum are probably in the same boat as me. I run a small independent fab shop and these days we turn away practically no work. This doesn't leave much time (or energy) to spend on-line.

Re: Intermittant Weak Arc from Miller Synchrowave 200
Sarge, That's the conclusion I have come to. I have had next to no trouble with any of my Lincoln welders, but all of my other Miller welders work great too. This one has really soured me against Millers though. The fan does still run. It's as if it is in pulse and stuck in an "off" state ...

Intermittant Weak Arc from Miller Synchrowave 200
I have a Miller Synchrowave 200 TIG that only works part-time. When I took it to the local Miller repair shop, they said,"why didn't you get a Synchrowave 250?". After they went through it and found nothing wrong, I used it for a few hours and it was back to giving a very weak arc. I know ...
