Re: Mig like Tig

Jody, I am probably the least experienced weldor here, but I've read the threads and I think I can interpret what ZTfab is telling us while not really telling us how he does that stack of dimes look. I haven't yet gone out to the shop and fired up but I have a sneaking suspicion that the technique i...

Re: Pulsing on ACHF???

I recently was using pulse mode on a Miller 350 DX. (It was built-in on this machine.) I noticed the pulsing was obvious only when at or near full pedal; at half-pedal you couldn't tell it was on pulse at all. Steve Your background current stays the same, so at half pedal you really won't notice pu...

Re: shop tools

Last I knew, Rigid is Ryobi. I have some Ryobi and they are better now than 15 years ago. Milwaukee is not as good as the old stuff, but it's still good. All Dewalt I see is going strong. I don't have any Dewalt tools, so that's just an observation. Not cheap, I've looked. I'm a Makita man. Made in ...

Re: Just to say thank you Jody

Add me to the list. I've been on a lot of welding sites and seen a bunch of You tube (where I first spotted WT&T.com) and he is the best to watch and listen to.
I'm just an interested hobbiest, but if I were a pro, I'd be here still.

Re: Welding positioner- homemade

Got an old engine stand? Lots of basics right there. Make an adjustable angle device under the rotating head with a couple of tabs and a through bolt and you'll have a good tool.

Re: Thermal Arc remote

Well, I bought a momentary switch at Radio Shiest fro 3 bucks and made a bracket to mount it to the side of the handle. I use my forefinger to activate it. It's on the left, so even though it's not a flat switch, it's not in the way. At least the way I hold the torch. As fa as the plug goes, a very ...

Thermal Arc remote

Did a thread search for "remote." Didn't see my solution. The 130 S and GTS do not have a switch for "local." I don't have an 8 pin remote switch. I don't want to buy a $200 foot pedal just right now until I understand what would be a good buy for use down the road. The welder wi...
