Ya i have never even used a spool gun only tig. Ifs its aluminum the only way to weld it in my opinion is tig.I would love to work with you, looks like a blast. That torch would be a option. Have you tried a standard number 4 or a long neck number 3 or 4. You could probly get that to work and since its such a tight area still shoulg get good sheilding. If it firs but not good enough shielding you could make a argon out of tin foil to trap some argon.
