Re: Multiplaz-3500 Evaluation, Part 14: Summary and Conclusi
Thank you Larry, Both for the effort you put into this evaluation, and for your (and your company's) willingness to share it here. I'm not too surprised with your conclusions... Every tool has it's place and purpose, and the marketing departments of many companies tend to inflate their claims for t...

Re: Multiplaz-3500 Evaluation, Part 09
WerkSpace, Thank you for your comments. I agree that there are improvements that can be made in the operating procedures that are recommended in the Multiplaz-3500 manual. However, for our testing we first test the torches as stated in the manual. My evaluation is also from the perspective of using ...

Re: Anyone heard of this? Multiplaz
I am happy to see the interest in the Multiplaz (water/alcohol plasma) technology . I am even happier to see the rational discussion of its advantages and disadvantages on this website. I read all of the postings on the other sites about the Multiplaz-3500 unit (all 30+ pages of them) before I start...

Re: Multiplaz-3500 Evaluation, Part 06
The value given in the table for the weight of the Miller Spectrum 125C has a question mark behind it because there were different weights listed in different Miller publications about the unit. I checked with Miller and the weight for the current unit, complete with torch, is 31 pounds. In 2004 the...

Re: Multiplaz-3500 Evaluation, Part 04
Correction:
Rather than say "cutting vertically sideways", I should have said "cutting sideways with the sheet vertical".
If this were a weld, it would be called a horizontal weld.

Re: Multiplaz-3500 Evaluation, Part 02
With regard to the questions about the composition and temperatures of the plasma; The central core of the plasma is, according to the Multiplaz literature, at a temperature of about 8,000 degrees Celsius. But the central core (the brightest point in the plasma) is surrounded by gas at lower tempera...
