Re: bare hand welding

It sucks as I have small hands and also have trouble finding gloves that fit well. I use the revco tiggster gloves in medium and the tillman 24wcm I think they are also medium. I haven't done it yet, but I had one supplier suggest trying a womans glove, revco makes some. I know the other guys in the...

Re: Aluminum tig on precision tig 375

I jumped up to a 3/32 pure tungsten and that helped tremendously. Now I bought some lanthanated tungsten to try on aluminum but from what Im gathering you can only use pure tungsten on transformer machines, you need inverter style machines to use different tungsten for aluminum. Is that right?

Re: Carnival Rides

Im not sure but I will ask some of my friends that own rides. I was a concession/game owner so they will know more about that than me. I don't think there are any specific courses or programs related to carnival rides but I will find out. What you could do is call or email a ride manufacturer and as...

Re: Different Tungstens

I know how to identify tungten with a color band. I am wondering if there is a way to distinguish what type of tungsten it is besides color. The last welder that worked at my company left a whole bin of used tungsten (about 50) without color. All the color has been ground off or worn off. I dont hav...

Different Tungstens

Hey guys,I just started working at a new company and the last guy who worked here was not organized at all. I was wondering if there is a way to tell what type of tungsten is which type after the color band has been worn or ground off. I have about about 50 pieces of tungsten of various sizes and I ...

Re: Carnival Rides

Hey there, as an active employed welder and a carnival game owner. I can tell you you wouldnt want to work for a carnival ride owner as the pay sucks. You are better off going into business for yourself offering repairs. Most of the work is all mig and stick welding. Most show owners employ all thei...
