Great thanks Steve You're welcome. He's replied to me, and is "on" your problem. A favor in return? Please explain your signature line, "Dancing with the blue lady." All I find on a search is horror stories. Steve S It's a metaphor for any type of electric arc welding.blue light...

Re: 2" schedule 10 stainless steel pipe
Flush or just above flush is all you need, making sure both edges are caught.pausing for the right time at the bottom before moving on,and deciding when to add a dab of filler.it works for me up to 6 inch schd10.

Re: Pipe Test Monday- Possible Inconel
The difficulty in tigging fancier materials comes when open rooting.more shrinkage and less wetting out.harder to manipulate the weld pool and direct the heat, needs an ultra tight arc length that carbon doesnt.then the possibility of cold lap on fills and cap is greater

Re: Welder Problems Lincoln 225 Precision TIG
I was on a precision tig 275 for a few months recently, open rooting 6010.it was very prone to sticking, I had to really tighten up my whip, if I wasnt super accurate with the rod it stuck.i ended up gapping the pipe a tiny bit wider which helped the problem. I thought the machine should have had a ...

Re: 6G Pipe Tig Root
Pics are a bit off, but that root looks very nice and consistent for width and penetration.the dipping of tungsten is something that normally clears up with time. one tip for your cap restarts, I think you are lighting up too far forward.step back more into the previous bead and they will become ha...

Re: Backwelding pipe
Resting the filler rod was something I wouldn't have thought of. I also was notified of most likely remote foot amperage control. < This can also be done on regular output settings without the foot pedal, right? ive only used the technique on carbon and stainless, I dont think there is much need fo...

Re: Backwelding pipe
There is no secret or trick to it, just being able to feed the filler rod steady and accurate. A bridge tack at 12 o clock will let you rest the filler rod against it if you need to steady it more. bevel to bevel with your torch, keep on the leading edge of the molten pool with the filler.dont follo...

Re: Inverters and 6010 electrodes
Another trick is when you're coming off a feather, when you hear the arc blow through to inside the pipe, pause for about a second or two and then move on.burns in lovely I had a habit of moving on without pausing and it never was consistent. From about 10 to 2 o clock pause too long and that pool wil...

Surprised to hear that really.i have found Lincoln to be far better sick welders
Even run through the 6010 port,my everlast couldn't keep ignited when even moderately whipping 6010.it was okay for when gap and heat was good, but couldn't keep up when you needed to manipulate it

Re: Inverters and 6010 electrodes
I've never used the esab , but I think it's 80 OCV versus 71v on the TA. That's what it looks like from the manual
The everlast is not recommended for 6010.they have a designated 200 amp stick welder to run them though

Re: Inverters and 6010 electrodes
The thermal arc 161 I tried struggled with 6010.not enough volts to keep them lit unless the rod is buried in the pool.
6011 they run just fine.

Re: Gas lens VS regular collet body
I dont think anybody 'staged' anything here.why would they?
people use gas lenses because they work, ask anybody that has welded stainless..not by magic but by laminar flow as stated already.
The pic just shows how.its not there to sell a product, just to demonstrate how it works
