Coping, notching, angles and miters, especially on square tubing, channel, and I-beams. And duel-shield FCAW-G. You guys are awesome. :D John, Jody and I talked about this idea and are working on plans for the future. There is strong interest in structural welding and associated fabrication, like y...

Re: Feedback Wanted

Tips on sanitary or food grade stainless. Tips on coping pipe or channel or I beams. Just thinking of a few thing I had to learn myself on the fly. Lots of welders out there do repair work like I do including quite a few of the part timers and hobbyists. You and I know a few Jonathan. Maybe how to ...

Re: Feedback Wanted

Richard, I am collaborating with Jody on future videos and trying to get some feedback from others on what they would like to see. The goal is to add additional value to what he already has done as well as bring new ideas/videos to the table. It is hard to guess what others want to see videos on som...

Feedback Wanted

Members, I would like to get a feedback from everyone here. Within welding and fabrication, which products, machines, consumables, processes, etc would you like to see more videos, posts and reviews on? I am looking for specific products like a particular sanding disc or brand, specific welding mach...

Re: Tig welder releases argon before I depress the foot peda

I could be wrong but I believe this is normal for this machine to purge out the lines? There is a factory that I was doing work at not to long ago and theirs did the same thing when it was first turned on. Just a thought.

I am here! So excited to be able to attend this year. There are a lot of us meeting up, including Alumike, and I know Jody will be around the Lincoln booth Monday-Wednesday around 11am. Hope to see more from this forum there. As always I will post up the cool products once the show is over.

Re: Debate revisited with cut & etch.

Nice test! I love this stuff. Looks like the right one is a different gun angle as well as fillet size. It would be cool to see the difference set up on a track mounted machine so travel speed and gun angle would be exact. I was actually asked to do some testing on spray vs pulse spray here soon, co...

FABTECH 2015

We are only a few weeks away from FABTECH 2015 held this year at the McCormick Place 2301 South Lake Shore Drive Chicago, IL 60616. Like last year I want to throw my number out there to see if anyone from here is going and wants to meet up. There are quite a few from Instagram that are going and if ...

Re: Unbreakable TIG cup-@superiorwelding

Shattered cups are more common than one might think. After releasing those videos I was contacted by 3 welding school Instructors (separate schools) about getting a sample because their kids did nothing but break the cups, mostly from neglect. One Instructor said he goes through an average of 3 cups...

Re: Unbreakable TIG cup-@superiorwelding

As for price, we have not settled on a final retail price but I can say they will be in line with other specialty cups. They won't be cheap but you are getting a whole lot more than a ceramic cup.

That style of connector is called a Direct Plug Connector and is common in Europe, as noted already. There are 5 major styles of connections, Direct Plug (or called the Euro Plug), Hobart/Tweco, Lincoln (long connector plug), Miller and Lincoln 10 (short connector plug). I have a few Abicor Binzel g...

Re: Unbreakable TIG cup-@superiorwelding

My secret agent says that they are working on a patent. I'm not sure, but that sounds like a long Road ahead. Sent from my ZTE T83 using Tapatalk Yeah, the Patent road generally is. That's okay, I'll just grab one of those little Fupa babies to satisfy my urge for fancy cup bling in the meantime......

Re: Unbreakable TIG cup-@superiorwelding

Depending on how things go we might release a limited batch before the holidays but can't guarantee that. The patent process is a long one and I don't want to release to soon. There will be some floating around that will be and have been sent to other welders for beta testing and feedback so you mig...

Unbreakable TIG cup-@superiorwelding

I wanted to post this here to get some feedback for a TIG cup I have developed and am currently in the testing phases of. Currently we have #6, #8 and #10 cups done that will fit on the 9, 20, etc series gas lens and the stubby gas lens for the 17, 26, etc. The whole idea is to have a cup that will ...

Re: Lincoln Power Mig 350 to tig

unclenicknack, I have and use the Lincoln 350MP on TIG and have had absolutely no problems with it. If it really is on electrode negative and he is using argon there are only a few things I can think it could be. One is it is set on the wrong setting. On the 350MP your mode needs to be on 3 and ther...

Re: props to you welders...

I will agree that for some TIG seems to be the hardest to master. I also agree that the only way to improve is to practice. As far as the shakes, I have made arm rests to help limit that. Here is the last one I made out of scrap SS I had laying around. https://instagram.com/p/6JbkBsDlak/?taken-by=su...

Re: Back purge question

A question that comes to my mind is do you really need to back purge this weld? Meaning can you just use copper or brass and back it up and save some gas? Do you have a pic of what you are welding? Of course, I love making back purges and trailing shields so I will take any excuse I can to make them...

Rick, Thanks for sharing that. I guess I just don't normally order 6061 when I know I am going to bend the material so I don't have the experience with it in that regard. I did see the other day where someone tried to bend 3/16" 6061 and failed miserably. All in what you know and technique I gu...

Re: bending aluminum for a fuel cell?

I'm not sure who told you the welds "crack easier" but I would like a better explanation of that. There are a few scenarios I can think of where this could be possible but unlikely. If you deposit sound welds I would not worry about that at all. And you used the appropriate filler for the ...
