Re: Miller 252 Voltage Question
I'm not very observant. So they do it backward in Alaska. Still I wonder why we use any level of CO2 in inert gas. Is it less pure? Cost less to manufacture? John should be able to explain what CO2, or any active gas, does to your arc, bead profile and why we add it. Also why we use argon and what ...

Daantman, Welcome to the forum. I am experienced with the 350MP running both steel and alum and might be able to help. We first mess a little more info. What exactly do you mean by "poor weld quality?" That leaves te door wide open. Also, are you running pulse, pulse on pulse and what are ...

Re: recommendations for 250 amp mig welder
So, being that your getting close Miller 252 and Lincoln 256, price wise, here's some things about them. If your gonna be welding a lot of aluminum, go for the Miller 252 and 30a spool gun. If your gonna be doing a lot of mig, spray, and duelshield, go for the Lincoln 256. IMO, ~John John, Curious ...

....AND I HAVENT EVEN TOWED ANYTHING WITH IT!!! :x I have to disagree with that statement. I saw the pic of the hitch cover and firmly believe the weight of that alum was enough to overload your motor causing failure. Thankfully that happened mere seconds before the welds were to break on the hitch...

StevenPerkins,
That's a easy one. I am a class A welder, Sam (Greintime) is a class B welder and John (AKweldshop) is a class C welder Haven't you heard of the "A" team?
I have not idea, but I can Google it.

Re: Welding on cement block
Someone can give you the technical details but I would give you the answer of no. If your plate is directly on the block and your weld is over the block, the heat will cause the block to "explode" so to speak chipping away a small portion. As long as the projectile never had a chance of re...

Good for you noddybrian! I do not know for sure if this is the same but I feel it would be a good guideline for sure. Hvacr, I see promising improvement between the two plates. The only thing I can add to others comments is work on your consistency. Try to use those 6" plates working on your "stack of dimes" look. I remember starting with 6011 and it was a pain until I got it down decently. Keep up t...
