Re: What size gas lense for my Miller #17 torch is best?

How did you arrive at 120amps? I wouldn't go that high on 1/16. I've just been working on 1.6mm, with a 1.6 tungsten and if going any higher than 60amps I was getting undercut but don't see that with yours. On having another look, it does appear you are getting some undercut. The 120A was just a &q...

Thanks for your reply. Then I will proceed with plumbing my two flow meters off the one regulator using brass fittings.

What size gas lense for my Miller #17 torch is best?

I'm looking into a gas lense for my Miller #17 TIG torch. What gas lense set up would you all recommend for TIG welding on 1/16" (.063) 308L stainless? I've been using a 1/16" tungstun (red) sticking out about 3/8" from a #7 cup with about 8-10 CFH flowing, 120 amps set on DCEN and it...

Re: Can I make my own dual flowmeter regulator for TIG?

Tee'ing off the main stub (removed from one flow/reg unit to use as the "master") coming out of the tank and double branching off to two sepaarate flow/reg units seems a no brainer. My main concern is the type of fittings that need to be used. Should I assume brass would be best? Also, sho...

Can I make my own dual flowmeter regulator for TIG?

I have two individual flowmeter regulators. I need to set up a purge system for my stainless steel project (bad sugaring) using my TIG Argon setup. Dual flowmeters are $200+!!! Can I just plumb my two together (correctly) and make my own setup? If so what do I need to be careful of (brass-only fitti...
