L per Sec to CFM conversion is just over 2, so you are right on there. I would try a little more flow. What are you using to cut / clean the ALUM? I have had issues with my lathe coolant causing problems if I don't wash the part after. Do you have access to another Gas cylinder?

Had to make a new mount for this motor. New location means lots of mods. Torch angle also has a lot to do with it. If you feed the rod from the front and the torch angle is close to 45 degrees your heat is out front. Check you torch angle.

It looks as though you have the polarity reversed. I see no note of whether you are running electrode neg or electrode pos.

Shaft build up because the bearing diameter was 0.002" undersize. Being in maintenance it seems as though I never seem to do "typical" welds. I have improved drastically after watching Jody's vids.
