Re: Foot pedal wirings

Big thanks for your help! I opened the welder and tested the pins with a meter. The results are weird.. None of the 3pins are ground and there are no voltages either. I tried to just guess the wires and soldered them to the connector(i found the correct females from an electrics store). Seemed to wo...

Re: Tig torch overheating

I'm also a big wheel reinventer.. It would have been almost the same price if I ordered a complete WC-torch set from Shop-River.... I guess it's not necessary for a hobby to be so rational all the time : ).

Re: Tig torch overheating

If anyone is interested, this is what I came up for now: http://s18.postimage.org/ry3zeiop1/2013_02_28_1727.jpg And this is the torch the way I ended up using it: http://s24.postimage.org/8b2mijrch/2013_03_01_1729.jpg It now has electric tape as insulation but I'm going to look for a rubber hose to ...

Re: Foot pedal wirings

This should be the correct pedal for my welder: http://image.pushauction.com/ViewPicture.aspx?Key=f518b1fa-81ae-4369-ac6b-bbf3d8b9ad2f_f5f3fa57-1063-4382-a157-b9e554fc7480 So actually it should have 2 connectors which makes a lot more sense. I think a 7-pin is used when there is a switch in the mach...

Foot pedal wirings

Does anyone know how to wire a 7-pin foot pedal to work on a 3-pin welder? From max current potentiometer goes the blue...

Re: Tig torch overheating

Being a hobbyist low on money, for now I ended up modifying the broken neck of the torch. I'll make a new stiff neck and the end part with the threads, out of thick aluminum and put a rubber hose on the parts 8-) . That should be able to take more heat than the original part and I'll also make the n...

Tig torch overheating

Hello people! I have a WP-26F torch on a 250amp Chinese ac/dc TIG-welder. I often weld thick materials using high amperage. The last work I did I had the workpiece set on my metal lathe and the torch on the tool post. I used around 150 amps for like 2 minutes and when I lifted my mask, the torch was...
