Re: Good Shop Tips

I see this all the time at work. A few air tools laying on a bench, nipple facing them, grab a grinder and start grinding all that dust right into the nipples. Pretty fast way to kill an air tool. Same could be said for the air tool holders that hold the tools by the nipple. Put a cap of some sort ...

Re: Which Wire ?? Your opinion please

I realize that I am going to get a lot of opinions, it's what i'm looking for. i choose to ask here, as to get a varied response, vs what my lws stocks and carries. I like being an informed customer. And would prefer to order american made if possible. and if someone says brand X is crap and buggere...

Re: looking to buy a mig welder.

First off do you need dual voltage or one that will only work on either 110 or 220.. I recently purchased the Millermatic 212 with Autoset and the Spoolmate 200 spool gun. Should cover anything I really need to ever weld.. But it's a solid 220 only machine. I looked into going with the 211 with it's...

Re: Which Helmet do i buy?

I think that if you can afford to get the Speedglass that'd be the one ..
Jody did a review of the Digital Elite and gave it good marks, but also said there are other's out there for a full time welder..

Re: Which Wire ?? Your opinion please

Well it appears that the majority of the Hobart Brothers (not the Hobart welders company) wire is made domestically.. Hopefully my LWS sells it and isn't looking to make me take a mortgage to purchase some..

Re: Which Wire ?? Your opinion please

Does anyone know of any MADE IN USA brands exclusively ? I'd like to know that the wire I'm using helped put food on some American's Table.. if that isn't possible. Then I guess I"ll go with the European imported ones..

Re: Good Shop Tips

if you're like me, your shop is also the family garage.. so you end up with a lotta extra junk..

Here's a tip for getting fishing poles out of the way...

Some shelf brackets, different sized PVC pipe, and a piece of wood..

Which Wire ?? Your opinion please

I'm sure this has been answered before, but after reviewing all 176 topics I didn't see it. What is (in your opinion) the BEST wire for a NOOB  to use.. Here's the Setup.. Millermatic 212 W/ AutoSet came with a .030 and .035 dual drive rollers.. I'm planning on using ARG/CO 75/25 LWS has rent...

A helmet that has a darkness adjustment can help, too. Other Steve is there a way to adjust the tint of the auto darkening helmets ? I like the idea of tinting the work to adjust for the type of puddle/flame you're working on. I got a Matco Tools PWH1050.. information on it here http://www.matcotoo...

Re: Input on a welder

The Millermatic 211 is a solid machine. Great for small stuff and is used by one of my buddies who build race cars(hobby, not professional) also it's the GOTO welder for a friend who works for a municipalities public works dept mechanics garage.. It'll do almost anything you need it to and with the ...

Re: New Here-What MIG machines are you guys running?

I actually called the LWS today and found out renting is not overly expensive. $49.00 a year to rent and $43.00 for the gas. This is for a 140cuft cylinder. (I think he said 140, could have been 160cuft) so my initial out lay is under a Hundred.. and It's almost double capacity what the 80cuft bottl...
