Re: Unstabe , Stuttering arc , why ?
My manual (Parweld) states the machine should be opened regulary and cleaned carefully with air. Opened mine today while searching for another noise I then found to come from the regulator  Loose connectors is a probable cause in most electric applications. Always worth checking before calling ...

I use a roloc-scotchbrite-type pad on a die grinder for a smooth satin finnish. Both on the welds and material.

Re: Gas or Diesel expected run hours ?
Look on the sales material if they mention B10 or B50 values (might be L10 in the states). Thats a value of how long they are expected to run before 10% vs 50% need major engine rework. Some says that means either drop the oil pan or remove the heads.

Re: Can "better" flow meter save me gas?
I've never measured the pressure in the hose but if it is 50 psi between regulator and the closed solenoid it means you have more than 3 times more gas than the empty volume of the hose.
Still sounds like post flow would be what consumes most at short runs

Re: Need some tips and tricks... Thin gauge stainless
You can straighten that mig wire to make it feed easier.
There are many ways to do it but I take a piece of brake line bend it to a S-curve. Just tight enough so you can squeeze the wire through. Chuck it in a cordless drill, spin it and pull through the pipe. Will come out nearly dead straight.

Re: Help with Magnesium
Can it be aluminum?
The weight difference would be significant.
Grind some chips off with a carbide burr and try to set it on fire.
Mag would burn with the help of a propane torch. Protect eyes with a weld lens and dont ever try to put out the flames with water.

As the others said. Increase sensitivity but you might also gain some by increasing delay time. That will keep lens dark longer so it might not flash.

Re: Can "better" flow meter save me gas?
Hej Thomas. I have changed to Elga regulator and I think the cinsumption went down. Difficult to compare when not welding every day and taking purge gas from the same bottle when needed. However, the better regulators output a more even flow which in time will save you some. If the also reduce the s...

You set the polarity on the panel with thr tig button. Put the clamp in neg pole and you should be fine as long as DC- is lit at the panel.

Re: Tig mild steel, what am I doing wrong ?
I visited Peter Tomasini recently and borrowed some really soft pliable wire that he suggested trying. The result... doesnt work. What I get is a bubbling weld pool. The same as I have experienced over the 20 odd years of welding. Peter gas weld almost anything he does with sheet metal so there is ...
