I'd like to know as well......i have a lot of trouble starting/re-starting with 6010 over 6011....I find 6011 runs a lot easier on my magma...

If the joints are going to be over a post, no problem. If they're going to be mid-span, I might think about inserting an tube inside the splice. Like is done in aircraft fuselage work. From your picture, the tube doesn't look that thick.

I was working with the Miller 252 at work yesterday and while a co-worker was welding the output voltage was varying half a volt or so either way. No big deal. It's normal.

Are you sure your polarity is right? You want electrode negative for flux core and electrode positive for solid wire. Many machines come set up for solid wire and you'll need to reverse the polarity for flux core. Generally, you just reverse two leads on the terminals near the drive rolls.

I've never owned a hose reel, nor have I ever worked in a shop that had one. I just wrap the hoses up on the bottle cart, or build an arm for them to coil over in the shop.
