i was thinking about buying one of those 1/3 machines, 1 because the plasma cutter would be cheaper than a oxy acc torch, 2 i find my self needing a tig job done every now and then , and 3 i also don't have a mig that will run any thing other than 10 gage. so insted of buying a new biger mig i thoug...

It's all I ever use. Can be had for under $100. Weld anything on this planet with it under the right conditions. Even aluminum when its super clean. Good argument telling your local weld equipment supply kid you tig weld off a Lincoln pipeliner with no foot pedal. One of these days I'll have one of...

Have gotten a couple calls now to weld up broken muffler pipes. Both were geographically undesirable so I didn't get into it. Frankly, I've never actually welded used muffler pipe. Seems too dirty to TIG unless I spent extensive time cleaning metal inside and out. I know the muffler shops routinely...
