Re: Looking to buy a TIG welder, recommendations please

I have a couple of Thermal Arcs. A 186 AC/DC, which I basically bought to do aluminum. I've been using an older Thermal Arc 150 GTS for about 16 years. Thing still runs strong. I've welded miles of stainless with that thing. I like it because it is light, portable, and will run on 110/220. Lots of l...

Re: Lincoln 256 or miller 252 ?

I own a Miller 252 and a 350P. Both of those machines are work horses. As good as they've been to me, I wouldn't even give the Lincoln a shot. I've also owned the older 251 model. It was as well a great machine. Not sure of all the options on the Lincoln but the 252 has pre/post flow control, burnba...

Re: Mig welders

Not sure what you're looking to spend, but I've owned a few different ones. Currently a Millermatic 252 and 350P, but I've had 251's and an older 210's. You can find used 212's and older 251's for decent prices. Just have to look everyday, so it kind of gets old. The 210/212's aren't going to weld y...

Re: Push Pull Feeders/Guns ???

I use a millermatic 350p with the aluma pro whip everyday at work . We have 4 machines set up that way. We run .035 and .045 4043 wire with pure argon gas. Love the way they run. The whips are a bit heavy, but loads better than a spool gun. One problem our machines are about 4 years old But brand n...

Re: Push Pull Feeders/Guns ???

Not sure when they changed the model of their 30a's but I'm sure the one I used was older. Those are definitely a lot cheaper to buy than the aluma pro series. Be nice if I could try them all out.

Re: Push Pull Feeders/Guns ???

Very nice, whatever it takes to get the job done. My thoughts were to set up the 350P with a push pull and leave it that way, since I picked up this 252. Just trying to decide if its worth it.

Push Pull Feeders/Guns ???

I have a Millermatic 350P and also just recently picked up a 252 as well. Didn't really need the 252 but the price was too good to pass up. Thing is brand new. I'm looking to set up for some aluminum welding. I don't do tons of it and currently I just usually tig weld what comes through. So anywho, ...
