Re: 115 Volt Mig Welder with Paintball CO2

This is the chart for the new Hobart Handler 140. http://www.hobartwelders.com/products/popups/infochart140.html It can weld 1/4" in a single pass. I weld 1/4" all the time with my older Handler 140 and it does a great job on it. I don't preheat and most of the time I am welding butt join...

Re: 115 Volt Mig Welder with Paintball CO2

I would like some more information about the video .. I can't seem to understand why Jody keeps welding .25" plate with a 110v machine with shielded gas wire ??? The machine says it can't properly weld it but in Flux core mode it can handle it .. I would like someone to weld 1/4" plate wi...

Re: Hobart paintball tank.

Why not just go to Harbor Freight and buy their 20 cf Argon tank for $90 and have it filled where you buy your sheilding gas. Seems portable enough for me, and the price is reasonable. The cylinder doesn't care if it's filled with Argon or some mix of your choosing. It should give around 45 min. to...

Re: Hobart paintball tank.

Why can't you guys just make your own kits and post up how you made in order to help everyone out ???
Personal I buy a tank with the screw type adapter and then attach a flow regulator then right to the machine ..

Re: Mod A Welder

Why this modification stuff? How is the welder mis-behaving so that you want to nuke it? Electronics is one of my interests. How would you know if the capacitors you brought new to the job were better quality than the capacitors installed by Lincoln? Are the old capacitors deteriorating? I am not s...

Re: Figuring out the voltage on Older MIG Welders

The old school way requires experence but you want information without giving us information like system specs or model # in order to help us help you... If you really want to know the voltage the add a cheap voltage meter display from ebay and wire it up ....

Re: when to use DC-

I have been told by a very professional welder , when welding out of position ,DC- works better with 7018 , helps make more concave welds ,which is what you want , I've always used DC+ for 7018 out of position welding , and it works good for me 8-) , what do you guys think :?: thanks John When some...

I like your power solution - never seen those battery holders before - an elegant solution allowing future replacement - I'm sorry to hear of this striping effect - never come across that before so can't offer any advise - usually just a battery change returns the lens to full working order - guess...

When I decided to do my own welding I went to a local welding shop, told the bloke I met my intended jobs and that I knew nothing. Re: Fab Table

Wrong again. Heck, I'm good at that. I spied a project on making a welding table on the Lincoln website. From my quick scan, it is 18" wide. I am not suggesting you don't know how to build a table, but you might like to have a look at this: http://www.lincolnelectric.com.au/articles/page358/ar...
