I have 3 Optrel helmets at the moment , 2 x e680's , one with the compressed air feed . Also a e684 which is fast becoming my go to helmet , as mentioned the auto ranging is fantastic when Tig welding .

Muriatic Acid removes mill scale , although i have not tried it myself

Unless Esab markets using different number systems around the world if it were 6013 the number would be 46.00 - rods starting 63.XX are in the austenitic stainless range & under the generic term " Almat " - maybe the numbers are different in the UK ? Esab also do a 6013 numbered OK 43...

Stainless is probably one of the most hazardous materials to plasma as it will release chromium and nickel . Your choice of mask should not be dictated by price . I have an air fed welding helmet with a grinding mode on it that is ideal for this type of work.

Although we dont have any Fronius units at work , i have used them before.....In the UK they are respected very highly for there pulsed aluminium mig machines.......Talking to the engineer we use for repairs and callibration the only downside can be getting spares though...
