S10 Hitch

After scoring some free drops from my steel supplier and having a piece of 2 1/2" square tube in my pile I had to build a hitch for my truck. It bolts on where the ball bolts to the bumper and to the bumper/frame mount. I drive a Chevy S10 so it won't be towing much. I TIG welded the whole thin...

Re: Plasma Cutting videos

John there have been times that I have been so sick of plasma cutting so I go stick weld overhead and run back to my plasma lol. Thanks Jonathan! We don't have the best set up but we try hard. lol I am going to try and do weekly videos, I don't want to talk a lot and don't want to get too technical ...

Plasma Cutting videos

Well I had a few people interested in how I use a plasma cutter and wanting advice so I created a YouTube channel and plan on doing weekly videos mainly about plasma cutting and our art work. There may be a few welding projects from time to time but not focussing on it. My channel is "Backwoods...

Re: Caution Tig Welding leads to collecting parts

I am addicted to weldingcity.com because they are cheap and good parts. I had to replace my torch head on my 26 torch so I changed it from rigid to flex head.

Re: Plasma cutting 1/2" plate....4' foot of cut....

John it looks good! When I first got my Everlast I fired up on some 1/2" at around half power for my machine cut like butter. I do agree with the one guy on there I have a 4' aluminum straight edge that I use for long straight cuts and it works great. I had saved up Sears reward points and got ...

Re: Plasma performance on thin stock?

As far as portability, I know Lincoln and Hobart make machines with built in air compressors so all you would need is a power source. Something to think about.

Re: Playing with stainless

I did today I maxed out at 200 amps and the first one turned out nice other than a little crooked from me shivering but after that they were gray and I could tell a little hot. What do I need to do different?

Yeah I honestly do not recall where I got this piece of stainless from but I will never use it for anything so I decided to play around on it.

Playing with stainless

I played with pulse settings on my machine for the first time and my first time welding stainless. Jonathan and I already established the fact that they are cold but with pulse I was maxed out. What can I do better. I was running a 3/32" 2% lanth tungsten, 1/16" 308 stainless filler and 1/...

Re: multiprocessor VS Dedicated ?

Take my advise because I was the idiot that tried to run my business with a multiprocess machine only and got burnt! It would be handy if you do a lot of portable work but if you are wanting to weld in a shop or garage then buy separate but buy them dual voltage to maintain portability. Trust me I w...

Re: Tungsten for Inverter welder

I have the Everlast 200 DV and I use primarily 3/32", 2% lanthanated tungsten with no trouble. It does ball up a little after a while or in my case when I stab it with the filler lol

Re: Plasma performance on thin stock?

I run an Everlast Power Plasma 50 and cut everything from 1/2" to 20 gauge with it no problem and not even maxed out. I love it especially since it is under $1000. On the thin stuff you just need to move a little faster and I bought a cheap air chisel from harbor freight and it makes quick work...
